A post-shutdown CNN poll shows 10% of us approve of how Congress does its job, a record low.

For all the hooha leading up to the shutdown, my only question is: What’s the matter with the 10%? The more significant number is 87% of us DON’T approve of how these clowns do their job.

“Someone needs to bend Congress over their knee and spank them real hard because they are acting like children!” said one of the 800,000 federal workers put on furlough. Just heard it on television.

Just don’t make it too much fun or they’ll think you are thanking them…

An alternative is to watch these people very closely till this business is done: Who smirks when they talk about their part in this debacle, who thinks they did the right thing, who are the ideologues, who makes your stomach turn when they speak on television or you see their photo in the paper?

Got their number? Vote them out of office the next time they are up for election. In a real sense, we the people are responsible for this crisis, and we are the answer to the problem.

A follow-up note on an earlier recommendation: I looked into it, and lining them up against a wall and shooting them is “iffy”. Damn!
