Post 294: “Snow” day like today to break out the hot chocolate!

Last day of January, and there is light snow greeting us this morning. Break out the hot chocolate and wrap up in a warm blankie! Andy and Dougy have their warm spots picked out even as I type.

Dougy sneaks a peek at the snow out the back door.

  1. No snow here yet and hopefully none to come with only 47 days til Spring. January felt like a really long month.
I am hoping to get out to the ocean with my camera for the Feb. king tides this month.
Have a good rest of the week end.

    • You guessed that correctly! I wasn’t even aware he was there at the time I made the photo (in near-darkness…this was Photoshopped heavily to bring up what detail was there since I’d also turned off the flash). He must have popped in and out just as fast. He wasn’t in any ofthe other photos I took at the time. The photo is heavily cropped as well so Dougy’s cameo appearance gets more prominence.

      • Photoshop is very advanced stuff, I agree, and I never master it. I have, however, learned enough tricks using it to get along. I prefer programs that are more obvious, but Photoshop definitely allows some amazing things to those who need such a professional tool.

I bet I get about 10% of the value of it, if that much, based on what the incredibly thick instruction manual I have for it.

Also, they keep updating it, necessitating purchase of yet another manual! I started with version 8; I have version 10 now, and they recently put out a version 11… whew! Or it it version 9 I have, and they’re up to 10. Whatever, I decided to stick with what I currently have till I can master it instead of adding a new layer of instructions for new features. My uses are very, very simple!

  2. Burrrr!!! Sounds cold, but fluffy, up there.

Also, thank you for “Liking” the post “Little Guys & I”. Streets Of Our World. on my photography blog http://www.throughharoldslens.com.

On behalf of the Through Harold’s Lens Creative Team, my trusty sidekick Mr. SLR Nikon, his brother Mr. Pen Pal and myself, we truly appreciate your enjoyment. We hope you continue to join us on our journeys.

    Best Regards,
    Harold

    • 17 degrees F/ -7 degrees C, which is colder than it was when I took this photo at 5:40 this morning. (I use a point-and-shoot Nikon, so, yeah, I had to Photoshop it to bring up Dougy’s image.)

I always find something to like or enjoy in your blog, Harold. It features excellent photography, prose and poetry that add depth, and features places I will never see in real life!
