Post 567: Where’s Andy, Dougy?

It’s one of those days. I have Andy’s medicine loaded up and in the refrigerator, waiting for the little rascal to screw up and get caught. Only one problem: I can’t find him anywhere, so must ask his brother, “Where’s Andy, Dougy?” He just gives me a dull stare back, like, “Mrow!?”

Then, moments before 1:00 PM, I notice something rare and curious on the cat tree.

What, what, what? There seems to be one extra arm in this picture, and it's pointed a different direction than Dougy, on top.

Curious, eh?! I just asked Dougy where his brother is, and I get a blank stare. There seems to be perfidy or conspiracy afoot…or both!

Yeah! Dougy averts his eyes. He knew. He knew! Pfft!

Whatever you do…

...don't look in the devil-cat's eyes!

=(^+^)=

Andy managed to hide long enough to avoid his medicine today. No good kitty. No “good kitty” treats.

    • Andy won yesterday, but this morning, he and Dougy were discussing cat matters in the darkness of the bathroom. I let Dougy come to me. (I live in cattle country and have some small experience from my youth riding a horse and cutting cattle from the herd to move to a new pasture or whatever…. Remove the extraneous cattle from the area, and the one you want is an easy matter to deal with!) With Andy left in the dark by himself, it was a simple matter to outfox him, block his one likely excape route, wrap him in the towel, and give him the dose of medicine he escaped from yesterday. He was surprised, but the post-medicine treats made up for his upset!

        • No kidding! I ordinarily use a cane, though I sometimes get around the house without it by hanging on to things. I discovered that Andy picked up on the sound of the cane, so made an early departure from the capture zone. If I walk up to him without the cane, I generally can catch him more easily. Whew! (Relatively, speaking, since walking is harder in those instances.)

    • More than that, Ruth! He’ll make me forget the medicine, but give him the treats anyway! I think I managed to avoid his devil look, though, so it’s sad kitty time as far as treat. He’s loading up on catnip right now, though. Must be working on false courage!
