I noticed Andy was very interested the other day in a potato bag that was hanging part way over the counter. Though neither Andy nor Dougy hops up on the counters — just about the only naughty thing they don’t do! — they do notice things. In the video, Andy satisfies his curiosity about the bag:
I’ve removed the temptation so Andy doesn’t accidentally chew on the bag and swallow plastic. (Please excuse the dirty floor, too. I hadn’t vacuumed yet, and, until I watched the video, I hadn’t noticed how really, really dirty it is!)
glitter and shine is tempting…
How true! This happens to be Andy’s biggest temptation, too — anything that glistens or shines. If it crinkles, too, all the better!
Marketers use this cat instinct a lot…
And how! (It works on their humans, too. I am a sucker for new cat toys, though I’ve learned over the years the best toys are string, boxes, and paper.)
And they don’t only use it to market cat toys, golden shoes and glittery things are well liked all over the world…
Bright and shiny. Yes, it works every time!
Love it. Actually Andy is very tame. If that were my gang, the bag would be on the floor and eviscerated. 🙂
The boys are very mild-mannered, most of the time. They can get rambunctious while chasing each other in their little “kill the antelope” game, where they alternate being the predator and prey. It’s cute when they do this, but sometimes one or the other gets hyper-involved and takes a chunk of hair off the other. No blood let…so far!
My guys get pretty rough with each other, but never any blood. Usually a lot of fur flying. Just when I think they have become sworn enemies, they curl up with each other and go to sleep. 🙂
Dougy is gentle with my hand, but Andy sometimes forgets I’m not a kitty, and gives me a little bit of kitty play with his “Raging Claws of Horrific Death”. Of course, after a few encounters, I’ve learned what over-stimulates him, and avoid doing it! Ha! 😉
Oh I know full well the “claws of death” Mind you I sometimes like to put a work glove on and really go nuts. 🙂
When I “prepare” Andy for his daily dose of medicine, I hold him like a baby, front paws on my right shoulder. I have permanent scabs and new wounds on that shoulder from Andy trying to relax. (I give him a shoulder massage while telling him he’s a good boy, and that usually relaxes him!)
LOL, I know all about those wounds! Especially when they were kittens. They would “walk” up my leg to sit on my lap or jump on the desk. I swear I have anemia from it. 🙂
Ow! I recall vividly when Andy and Dougy were kittens how they’d play-chase each other, and I occasionally had one or the other climb my legs, arms, and back like they were climbing a tree. I finally got it across to them this was not acceptable!
Wow are you lucky. I just wear heavy gauge jeans. They never remember. 😉
And curiosity didn’t hurt a soul!
Moonstruck
My cats definitely have the cat interest in everything!
He is so sweet, I love his eyes!
By the way, our Labrador changes its coat for more than 4 weeks. I gradually forget how a clean carpet looks like.
Andy always comes out cute in videos! Also, with two Persian cats, I rarely see a clean carpet after 24 hours of vacuuming it!
😀
The little rascal has to be watched closely because he loves to chew on plastic and crinkly things.
