Andy and Dougy rarely are on the computer desk at the same time. Probably best that way, too, because the peaceable kingdom settles into anarchy when they do..
Andy is a particular pest to his brother Dougy. I sometimes have to intervene when the boys can’t settle who gets to have his favorite spot without his brother batting him around from above…(Andy is a rascal!)

Exactly! One is never more popular with the kitties than when trying to use a computer, I think. Or when using a can opener. (I use a mechanical one, but the boys come running no matter how far away they are at the time. LOL!)
I have an electric can opener as well. Amazing the range of hearing! My house is 3,500 square feet roughly. No problem for the cats! 🙂
Electric can openers make enough noise I could believe they hear that, but the mechanical one I use is virtually noiseless after that first pop when it breaks through. Regardless, my apartment is probably a third as large as your house. They come running every time!
If it involves food, they seem to have super power hearing, but if you call them when they are not in the mood they go deaf. 😉
Mine ignore me most of the time, though both pester me for attention when it suits their selfish needs. LOL! 🙂

Dougy goes one step beyond whining at my feet. (He’s a real whiner…!) He scratches on my computer chair, a leather covered deluxe chair that lost hundreds of dollars of value the very first day he hopped on it, which was the very first day I had it! Looks like a scratching post from top to bottom, which, of course, it is as far as Dougy is concerned, the little brat!

How true! I’ve decided that I can have it recovered in fabric if it bothers me that much. Of course, Dougy would rip into that, too, the little darling.
But fabric doesn’t come of in strips! Luckily I learned my lesson on a second hand leather chair that I picked up for $20 at an action. 🙂
