Andy wasted no time and dug into Mr. Frog’s maw for the BirBug lure!

“Now what?!” Andy got the prize, but it wasn’t doing anything. Hunh!?
Not to worry. I saw Andy’s dilemma and made sure he got some good action for his efforts! Dougy came over and joined in the play. We all had a good time.
I love that picture with them nose to nose. They look like such gentlemen. BTW – we have a cat with furry feet like these guys. Any tips on trimming the nails?
I’ve never trimmed Andy and Dougy’s nails. They are heavily pigmented, so telling where to trim is problematic. I asked their veterinarian about trimming, and he said the front claws are kept in shape by scratching. The outer sheath slips off when the nail is ready to shed it. Cats chew their hind foot nails to trim them. This isn’t good advice, just confession of what I do or don’t do and why! Their veterinarian did say nails on dewclaws need to be watched and trimmed if they start to curve in on themselves because they can grow into the flesh, become infected. As for trimming them, though, I am willing to pay someone to do it. Both the veterinarian staff and the staff at the groomers can do it for a small cost.
Sometimes they have more fun looking for toys than they do when they find them. 🙂

Oh Dougy and Andy can be very interesting. How old are they? Coco is 8 years old, and still behaves like a kitten.
They were born on Canada Day (July 1st) of 2011. Of course, they are American cats and should have waited till July 4th! 🙂 Sooo… that means the boys are three years and seven months old.
Oh darn that. Not coming out on July 4th! 😀

I love me some kittens. More fun that Disney World.
Kittens are nice, but I’ve done it both ways: a shelter cat that was 5 years old and two kittens (Andy and Dougy, in the posts). Andy and Dougy were quite a handful as babies, and I wasn’t the best person for two little kittens. Thanks to KITTENS FOR DUMMIES and the Internet — not to mention their veterinarian and $1400 in medical care within their first four months with me!– I got through their kittenhood, but I’d never want to do that again!
Oh my. Kittens can be crazy. My George Bailey (marmalade tabby) moved into our house when he was about a year or so old. Now he wants out when the other cats are in heat.
I hope he isn’t responsible for more kittens…!
He thinks he is capable, but we saw to that when he moved in. He’s a good fellow. Has never scratched me once on purpose.

Consider looking at your local animal shelter for a shelter kitten. Don’t discount the possibilities of older cats, too. They are harder to place (typically) but usually already socialized. Kittens demand lots of patience and time older cats often don’t.
My dad actually runs an animal rescue organization. But, i want a munchkin cat lol. Im getting one in about a year or so. I think theyre adorable. And yes, ive thought of getting an older one ☺
