When the boys play that string wand toy game, everything ends in a big chase through the house. One cat chases the other, then they disappear for a few minutes in the bedroom or bathroom, are very quiet — what are they doing?? — then they reverse roles. The antelope becomes the lion and the lion becomes the antelope! RAWR!

The hellcat Dougy, hiding in full view, up high where he can see Andy coming before Andy can see him. And he’s getting away with it because…

…Andy thinks Dougy is in the bedroom waiting to pounce him, not behind and above him! Watch out, Andy!!
MOL!! Such fun!😺
It’s a good thing they have a long carpeted run because they take it so fast they are practically flat against the ground!
Sounds PAWSOME!🌹
They get some amazing speed on them!
Love that smooshy face!
Yes, me, too! Until I got the boys, I’d never been around Persian cats. They love having that little spot in between their eyes rubbed since it’s one place they can’t get to. (Rub it and get the cat to drool. Yippy! Lots of fun!)
Oh yes, that chair is definitely his territory!
He’s done such a great job of ruining it, it might become his birthday present…!
They are gorgeous!
Naughty as heck, too! (“Pretty is and pretty does,” I tell them. “We pretty much do what we like!” they “say” back!)
😁
Look at that beautiful face-sorry Dougy but it is a beautiful adorable face.
“Pretty is as pretty does” – look at how shredded the chair is below him. That’s Dougy’s work, the dang cat!
So…do you brush their Persian fur every day?
Andy doesn’t have really thick fur, and requires less brushing (which he hates…!), but Dougy loves to be brushed. I try to brush him daily, but the main thing is to get to it often enough that no mats form. The main place they devlop in under his airms and in his “tail feathers”! I take them to the groomer for a “hygienic trim” (To shorten the butt hair…so poopballs don’t hang up there. Ick!) and a teddy bear cut. I’m thinking of letting them got natural except for the hygienic cut because they are black with strands of silver in it (and a lovely soft grey on the belly). They are quite pretty that way, if a bit more involved for upkeep.
They are beautiful. I get the whole hygienic trim. I had three Shi Tzu. Down to one now, but that trim is definitely needed.
Your babies are beautiful-glossy and happy.
Shi Tzu are lovely dogs! (I find their energy and sweet dispositions very appealing, plus they are beautiful dogs.) I guess you would know about hygienic trims, then. LOL!
They are lovely dogs. The one who adopted me passed away last March. He was my best friend. I still miss him.
They live in our hearts, don’t they? I still remember fondly Laddie and Peanuts, two family dogs when I was a wee fart. Of course, Louie the ginger cat, who died August 1, 2011, is there as well, and little Freckles the grey tabby who was with me such a short time but was such a sweet little cat….
Their lives are so short, but the memories are lifelong.
Yes. One has to focus on the joy they bring or you’d never have them in your life.
No. Most days for Dougy I do, and very rarely for Andy since his hair is finer and lacks an undercoat as dense as Dougy’s. Andy just doesn’t need as much brushing.
