Dougy loves to sleep pressed against my arm. Here’s the earliest photo of him doing just that. He was around three months old at the time, and the pattern was set.
(Go ahead and say it now: “Awwww!”)
Sometimes he’s satisfied to just be near me. Notice his adoring gaze…!
Other times he wraps himself around my arm, totally immobilizing my mousing abilities. This photo, in fact, had to be taken left handed, upside down.
Of course, I Photoshopped it a bit for your comfort! This is the original.
Could be worse. When he faces me, he sometimes has happy paws on my poor, naked skin. He digs right in!
He means no harm, of course. Ouch! Kitty love is a rough love.
But he’s so cute and fluffy!

I smile every time I see that particular photo of Dougy as a baby! (I have a copy hanging on my wall, along with one of Andy as a kitten standing on my keyboard his first day in this household.)
I used to have a kitten once. They are absolutely adorable animals. I fell inlove with them

Omg that is too cute!!!! He was soooo tiny teeny. Mega awwwwww
And Andy was a little smaller than that! When I think about how little they were when I got them, I am amazed they grew up to be as big as they are. (Which is about average size for a cat….)
I know! Kitten are always so tiny but grow so quickly as my sister is finding out atm haha

If I didn’t need the arm to operate my mouse, I’d love having the kitty warm-up on it. Sometimes he sleeps with me at night this way, and that’s OK since he really is a great arm warmer!

And yes, cat love is rough – when cats mate, you would not want to be in either position. The males gather around a female in a “circle” (more or less) and they take turns in trying to go for her, but she beats the crap out of them. Unless they manage to bite her in the neck (not hurting her skin) – then she becomes submissive. I can understand the female is underwhelmed at the prospect of the male getting into her – his penis has barbed hooks – not very pleasant, but this way he makes her ovulate after he inseminated her. This way queens manage to get pregnant from more than one tom!
And they are just cute, warm, fuzzy, wonderful creatures to us! Ha! Until the animal control officer cleared out the stray cats around here and took them to the shelter, I often heard the ypwls of kitty love at night! LOL!
Now you know WHY they are so loud.
