I talk with my financial adviser next week, and need to have some of my financial ducks lined up in a neater row than they usually are.
One of those ducks is my tax return for last year. Knowing my tax liability will help set how much money I draw out of my retirement account each month this year. If I owe money in, of course, I may want to have more withdrawn in taxes before the money’s transferred to my banking account. If I get money back, well – woohoo! – maybe I can splurge on a new cat toy or something for myself.
So, I put all my tax papers in a manila envelope, then couldn’t find it. Never mind. Andy found it in an instant, and promptly claimed it for himself!
“What’s this?!”
“MINE!”
Yes, yet another good reason to keep cats, though Andy wasn’t happy when I took “his” new claim away!
Good boy, Andy! Too bad we can’t take the whole tax situation and toss it in the litter box!!!
You can bet he’d bury it there if he could!
Very cool that Andy is such a good helper and found exactly what you need.
You know cats! If it exists, it is fascinating to them, and he gravitated immediately to the missing envelope!
You’re lucky they didn’t hide the envelope away someplace unfindable!
That is a fact! Fortunately, I saw him playing with the envelope early on.

I always give him my junk mail. He appreciates it!

Well, he likes to lick things, so would be willing to start out in the mailing room!
I’m in Florence right now, in a little apartment in an old part of the city. Across the alley is a little shoemakers shop, “manned” by 3 young Japanese women. That’s interesting enough, BUT they have 3 gorgeous cats in the workshop. How can I afford some handmade shoes so I can play with those cats!
I’d brazenly walk in, compliment the kitties, get into a conversation with the proprietors about their wonderful kitties, and, by virtue of revealing your appreciation for cats, get the “Friends of Cats Discount” on those handmade shoes! One thing about handmade shoes, they are a good investment since they are specifically fitted to you, so should last much longer than off the shelf shoes.
Andy is so sweet in the way he is curious about his find. Another cat…..are you sure, Dougy and Andy approves? O_o
They both are snoopy as heck! Of course, all of us with cats know that’s just standard cat behavior.

Some years I get beat up, other years I win the lottery. I have no idea how this year’s going to work out, and my CPA (chartered accountant) hasn’t called back yet to tell me he’s finished with the return.
I got a note to do my first annual return for Katzenworld Shop… It’s like I had one grand sale! It’ll cost me more time to sort out the paper work than what I made with It haha xD
I belong to a museum group that sells small odds and ends (stickers, books, keyrings, and so on). The paperwork required to account for the sales tax is a headache and the total sales are inconsequential. The tax man is afraid all the little guys are just not going to hand over as much as possible of any small amounts they manage to earn, I guess.

I belong to another group that sold so few things that the postage on the payments was greater than the total taxes to be paid. But the tax man got his due.
Ugh! Yeah that’s awful :(. My biggest fear of selling stuff as a business x.x
🙁 It’s why I wouldn’t want to be involved in running a business. As it is, though my taxes are relatively straight forward to do, I prefer to pay a CPA to do them for me. If nothing else, they know the tax laws better than me, and they know of ways to get me more refunded than I do.
