What a nightmare! Both my PC and new laptop are back from repair, and virtually nothing works the way it used to.
G-mail is down. All Microsoft Office applications are down. Photoshop is AWOL. Ugh! How I got onto WordPress is a mystery. I typed what was in the search box “in case”. If I can get to the editable section of the blog, I can limp along with something, however rudimentary.
If you’ve stayed on during me disappearance from the Internet, bless you! I’;ll try top reward you with some happy cat stuff to make up for thew recent blackout. If nothing else, the boys and I had lots of play time this past week, and they’ve enjoyed having the extra attention.
But, hey! Here are some cat photos to give you something other than a tale of woe for today’s post:
It’s been nice enough to open the back door. The boys liked that!
Dougy heads for the little red chair.
Lots of birdies out this door! The fir tree is just across the lawn from here.
Woohoo!
Happy cat!
Of course, if Dougy wants to sit on the little red chair, so will Andy!
A little tension, but the boys resolve it without a hassle.
The change of the guards…! Andy makes his move.
Woohoo! Andy’s turn!
Dougy moves over to the cat lounger.
…but he keeps an eye on his brother!
Of course, Andy keeps an eye on Dougy, too!
Later, Dougy’s off to his hidey hole to snooze and Andy climbs on top of his favorite perch, the blue carrier on the settee, for a nice rest of his own!

They’re such beautiful cats. Do they shed much? Or do the regular trips to the groomer take care of that?
And how! I ended up buying a Dyson designed to pick up pet hair because their hair baffled my old vacuum The old vacuum’d roll the hair into windrows, then I had to hand pick them off the floor. That said, I had a short-haired ginger tom before them, and his hair, if less noticeable on the carpet, still over-whelmed my vacuum. I do think the regular grooming and brushing helps control the amount of hair everywhere, but it doesn’t end the housekeeping.
I saw a video where the person vacuumed the cat with a hand-vac and the cat loved it. My cats were not interested.
I’ve seen one like that, too. Seems it was a German cat.
Good to know you are getting the upper hand here. I’ll always hang in here, and know you will too.
I managed to get Photoshop Essentials 13 to download this morning. I have never downloaded Adobe products the first time I tried, and every time — after blood, sweat, tears, and much toil! — I find a not particularly obvious final step that completes the job. Today was no different! Success with this download makes me feel cocky and smart! LOL! 🙂
Great pictures of the boys. I missed your blogposts.
Thanks! I missed doing them, not to mention catching up on what my fellow bloggers were posting. I still have a lot of old posts to go through, and probably will spend part of the afternoon getting a start, at least.
Glad to have you back! I was getting worried here!!! Oli was planning to send Nubia out on a search party (yeah right too lazy to go himself!!!)
Thanks! And I’m really happy to be back, and I was a bit worried myself when I saw how much I had to reinstall and figure out to just get started once I did get the machines back.
I hate it when technology breaks down. 🙁
Marc-André, you are singing my song!
Some lovely photographs of your lovely cats. Glad your PC is back and working. (more or less)
Oh, welcome back. You’ve been missed, all 3 of you. 🙂
Believe me, I missed all of you, too! It will take me a long time to catch up with everything everyone’s been doing.
You missed my triumph in the world of sports! (In my dreams).
I went back to your blog to see what I missed, and I had missed quite a bit! (Scary to realize that pretty much sums up how much I will have to go through to catch up with everyone!) Anyway, I trust you had a good time on the marathon walkj!
I loved it, wb. The weather was so kind to us, there were no cars, scooter, etc., so the streets were ours for a short time. Bliss.
It sounded like it might be fun! The Germans do a thing called a Volksmarsch that’s similar. Everyone who participates gets a little medal or something verifying they took part and completed it, and it is open to everyone of all ages. I always thought they were a great idea, and certainly a good way to get out and enjoy the open air!
Sure have nosed the photos of your sweet boys. Hope everything gets straightened out for you. Did you say you knew laptop had to go to repair too?
Thanks! Yes, the laptop had a virus from me trying to load Google Chrome! (I was NOT amused!) I hope you got a good dose of Andy and Dougy today! I( need to go through old blogs to find out what’s been happening with you and Tim (for example) and for updates of Maggie the pitbull, who, I was sorry to read today, has some serious health issues that developed since I lost contact with the world. Poor doggy…! I hope Ali is still on the mend!
God you are incredibly strong all devices are down,I lose my mind when there’s a problem,it’s great to see you back for now,the fur beans look great

I am a bit of a fatalist. I don’t generally lose control, but computers have the power to unravel me, too! If blasphemy is as bad as we are told it is, I can abandon all hope now!
Blasphemy is only bad if you are a strict believer.
Ha! Ha! Or are exceptionally conductive or tall, making you more susceptible to lightning strikes out of the blue! 🙂
I can only imagine how frustrating it all is.
And how! Petting cats is a good way to reduce blood pressure, however, and I have two willing partners!
Nice to have cuddly cats!
It’d be nicer if they liked to cuddle, but I am “allowed” to pet them while they lounge on the sacred ottoman or the blue carrier on the settee. The older the get, the longer it seems they do let me hold them, though, and they will have a 4th birthday on July 1st this year!
They are just showing you who is in charge. 🙂 I’m so glad you are back.
How true! And thanks! I’m glad to be back, finally. The past two weeks were a big hassle.
Welcome back Doug! The changing of the guards happens here too. Usually Lucio giving a boot to whomever is in his favorite spot of the hour…
Thanks, Lavinia! If stumbling through it all, I am, at least, back in some form.
Welcome back! Hope everything gets sorted with your PC and laptop.
Thanks! I stumbled on this different place for comments, and see I can respond here! Whew!
Lol.. yeah I know what it feels like, sometimes machines have a mind of their own!
I am not a happy adapters when it comes to new programs or updates, but I generally do fine after I have my temper tantrum! LOL
Yeah that’s how it is, we really don’t have a choice but to adapt, they won’t ever get easy for us, we’re the ones who have to learn how to use them.. Lol.. I hope you get through this soon!
Me, too! I think I’ve had enough challenges to last for the rest of the year, and want to have smooth sailing for a few months!
Welcome back! Computer problems are such a pain.
That they are. The gift that keeps on giving.
If you can hear me, HANG IN THERE! We’ll keep waiting for your return. 🙂
I’m finding places I didn’t know existed. Not as handy, I think, as the old way, but I can view the comments at least. I guess they are posting to the blog as well.
LOL, yes. I never use email for comments. I just click on the bell and go through the list. 🙂
It is much faster, I’ve discovered! I think I’ll probably do comments this way from now on, too. Much easier!
Oh yah! You can be in an article and the color flashes in the corner letting you know a message is coming in. I love it. 🙂
I guess that’s a new thing I haven’t noticed or experienced yet. Thanks for enlightening me, Tom!
No problem. Oh and to close the comments window, just click on the bell again. 😉
That one I figured out, probably by accident more than intuition!
you can download Openoffice from OpenOffice.org to replace all the Microsoft word stuff ( Openoffice is free and much much better than any microsoft word program anyway, and it will open any microsoft document)
I don’t know how to resolve the gmail issue, I use Google Chrome as my browser and just stay logged into it, my gmail is attached to the browser so it opens automatically when I click on it, my gmail seems to be working just fine.
I am glad you are back and am sorry you are still having issues with your computers, hopefully you get them resolved and your life can get back to normal 🙂
I was set up the same way. Google Chrome is my preference for a browser, and I see where Microsoft is calling it quits on Explorer. As for the other things, I’ll have to check that out. I know I will need to spend some more money before it’s over, most likely, to get things re-established.
