It was bound to happen. “Someone” (AKA “Dougy”) figured out how to help himself to the little stash of wand toys stuffed in the end table. I didn’t think he’d figure it out, but the evidence is there!
A suspicious moment: I think I caught someone red-pawed helping himself to the wand toy stash!
“The door was closed last time I was over here, Dougy. Do you know anything about this…break in?!”
Dougy has nothing to say.
“Look me in the eyes and say you know nothing about this, Douglas James Thomas! I demand an answer!”
Dougy’s silence speaks volumes!
“J’accuse! Can I ever trust you again, Douglas?!”
Dougy maintains he is innocent…mostly!
“I’m just a victim of my cat heritage. I can’t help myself! Um…because they are there! That’s why I broke in! Because!”
I’m torn between wishing Dougy were less clever and being pleased he is so clever!
“Well, they are cat wand toys, you are a cat, and that’s good enough an explanation for anyone, my good kitty!

ha haaaaaaaa Dougy has been watching Andy i think and more than likely sat there taking it all in and then he thought no one was watching then went for it!
That’s very likely, Lucy!
WISHING YOU ALL A LOVELY FURRY PAWSOME SUNDAY,WE HAVE RAIN HERE!
Dry and sunny here…!
Your posts always lift my heart a bit, Thank you. I just had to re-home all three of my dogs last weekend due to declining health. It has not been easy but your lighthearted post makes me smile. Blessings to you.
That’s heart-breaking news, Tina, and I know how hard that has to be. If my posts help your burden, good. (I hope you are able to see your three pooches from time to time.)
Thanks for your understanding Doug. Only a fellow animal lover would understand. I may be able to see the one every once in a while but the other two have gone to different families. These ailments with which we live rob us of so much. Your posts are a bright light and I will enjoy your boys through you. Thanks. Blessings to you.
I’m glad I can share Andy and Dougy this way. They’ve been great fun, and they brighten my day!
Did the boys enjoy the new UPS boxes?
Yes, and you can see how they reacted in today’s post and tomorrow’s.
Ali says she knows Dougie is innocent and a small dog came in and opened it and got into things and Dougie scared it off.
Love that adorable furry face in the last shot.
Every time I catch Ali on the back of the sofa trying to climb the drapes, she looks innocent and watches the birds out the window, like I am going to believe she is looking up at the birds and not the drapery rods she loves to play with.
Dougy is innocent…NOT! But they are cat toys after all!
Every time I read about the boys and think about people who hate cats I can only assume that they are afraid the cats will outwit them.
They will, you know…! LOL 🙂
They certainly will!
🙂
Don’t you go reprimanding my buddy! He’s the cat and the toys are CAT toys!
Dougy’s forgiven because they are cat toys and I am proud he was clever enough to work out how the door opened. It isn’t a typical door.
It was only a matter of time. Unless there is a lock and key, my guys get in everywhere. 🙂
How true! There’s one cabinet in my bathroom that always is open, courtesy of Andy. I gave up closing it because it’ll be open in minutes again anyway. LOL!
I found the same with every door in the house. Bathroom privacy was a thing of the past.
Yeah! Head for the bathroom, and both cats come running! Andy stops at the shower, but Dougy always climbs on top of the reservoir, right behind me if I’m sitting on the throne! Oh well. Dougy used to walk back and forth under my legs when I was on the throne, and that was slightly pleasant in a sick way! LOL!
Ha Ha, sounds very familiar.
I was scandalize the first time one of my cats watched me use the toilet! Ha! Andy (who hates baths more than Dougy, who hates baths quite a bit) is fascinated by what I do in the shower. I kind of get a kick out of letting him watch me shower because he always has a look of incredulity on his mug: “You mean you want to get wet like that???!”
I always wonder what pets are thinking when their master is taking a shower.
My Seattle sister had a cat that liked to watch her shower. As noted, Andy will watch me if I leave the door open, though he becomes agitated if so much as a drop lands within a foot of him! (He’s so cute when he tries to shake imaginary water off his from paws! LOL!) I hate to think what they might be thinking, though. Might not be flattering! 😉
It is probably best, not to dwell on what they are thinking. 🙂
Of course, once gets past the paranoia, one might learn they are thinking, “Hmm. He’s actually much brighter and nicer than I gave him credit for being. I mean, he does know how to open the light stand to get the wand toys…!”
Funny, You have your uses.
Amusement for cats…!
Uh-oh! What a clever, persistent cat he must be.
His brother Andy is more so than Dougy, so it was kind of nice to see Dougy has the capability to figure out doors on cabinets, too!
I agree cats can be a two-edged sword, proud of them for doing something one moment then mad at them for the same thing when reality sets in!
For the moment, I’m still proud of Dougy, though I know I have to anticipate further security breaches if I don’t plan for them!
Yes, clever kitty! Keep the human on his toes.
Andy’s the kitty brother who best handles cabinet doors and drawers, so it surprised me Dougy managed to work out how to get into the light stand! (I’m a proud “papa”!)
As you should be. 🙂
I quite agree! It’s one of the charming qualities of the boys that they are so clever!
