Nothing gladdens a kitty’s heart more than new boxes, and the UPS delivery person made two very happy kitties by bringing two new boxes to the house.
Andy and Dougy can’t believe their good luck! Two new boxes! All there’s left to do is sort out who gets which one… or who gets both.
Dougy hops right to it.
Dougy’s the first one in, and Andy has to wait his turn, if Dougy lets him have one!
Dougy hears something outside: Another box delivery? (No, false alarm.)
Back to business! Can’t let Andy have a shot at the boxes!
And Andy sees the boxes aren’t guarded…for now! He plans a coup!
Andy confronts Dougy. This box isn’t big enough for two! And Andy wants it.
Andy makes his case: MINE! Get out! Dougy resists.
Andy hops in…on top of Dougy! More than one way to skin – or unbox – a cat!
Dougy sends Andy packing! Dougy had “home box advantage”.
“Don’t go away mad, just go away, Andy!”
>scratch-scratch-scratch<
Dougy marks HIS box, just in case Andy didn’t get his point!
Smug Dougy! Andy’s gone for now.
=(^+^)=
Tomorrow, Andy regroups and gets his box. In the meantime, just so you don’t feel bad for Andy, here’s one last photo of the boys, each in his own box:
Dougy (on left) in his box; Andy in his. The boys worked it out, then Dougy ran off on cat business, leaving both boxes to Andy. More about that tomorrow!

Photo No. 6 — I think it was 6 — I see duct tape and square holes cut into a box. You not only give them boxes but you also built them a cat fort from boxes? It makes me feel like such a bad cat mother. Fortunately, that my cat is forgiving. Glad to see you and the boys are still going strong. 🙂
Yes, the fort was an eyesore I gladly got rid of after months of living with it! LOL! I still have a nasty box they love in the living room, a bod that regularly is featured in photos. Dougy especially likes it because he can get in it, and grad=b his kitty wand toy lure when it swings boy on the outside. (He’s an A=ambush master as a kitty hunter.
Your cats are so adorable! Am I the only one who can’t tell them apart in the pictures? What should I be looking for?
Dougy has a broader face than Andy. His eyes are farther apart and are darker than Andsy’s. Andy is slimmer and longer in body than Dougy. Dougy has a more classic Persian body: thick and broad. Andy’s tail is longer and quite handsome. Dougy’s tail is nice, but isn’t quite as lovely as his brother’s. It may be easier to tell them apart in life because they have distinct personalities, with Dougy being gregarious and Andy more reserved. I try to identify them in the blog, though, since they are difficult to tell apart in some circumstances, even for me!
You are very good about identifying them. I have noticed that one tail is fluffier and longer than the other. I will pay closer attention to the other things.
They are from the same litter, but they look enough different that one can tell them apart with a little practice!
Those two provide so much entertainment and heart smiles. Ali loves boxes too and when we go to Walmart we always grab a new card board for her when they leave them laying in the aisles after they are empty.
My apartment looks a mess because of all the boxes the kitty brothers claim! (Keeps them off the streets…!)
I like the last shot best – everybody has a box!
I was pleased they both settled on a box, too. Dougy wanted both initially, but backed off and let Andy keep the smaller one.
Such drama! What does it say about us that we arrange our homes to keep the kitties (or puppies)?
Says we are wonderful, thoughtful people…who might be a little daffy! LOL! 🙂
You are a good catdaddy. Dougy is taller than my smallest dog used to be, wow! I had no idea your boys were that big.
They are roughly 10-11 pounds heavy, and are what I’d call a medium-sized cat.
Two cats in a box is better than a cat by its lonesome
In theory, though Dougy didn’t agree with the idea when Andy hopped into the box with him!
I can’t believe we’re all sitting here, chuckling at cats and boxes!
Better than sitting in the dark worrying about the price of coffee of the latest ache and pain…!
So true, weggy ! Such a pleasure to look at the kitties – amitiés – france 🙂
Glad you enjoy them!
A wonderful story! It had everything, intrigue, adventure, discovery, a battle scene. Just great! Can hardly wait for the sequel! 😉
It continues tomorrow, with a happy ending for both kitty boys.
I like happy endings. I think I’m going to have to go to the attic and unpack some more boxes from our move two years ago. I want the cats to have some fun. 🙂
If you use the usual formula of one box per cat plus one (same as litter boxes…!), you’ll be emptying lots of boxes today or have one huge traffic jam around too few boxes! (It’d make great photos, though!)
I don’t have the energy for that many boxes! But definitely a great camera opportunity! 😉
You can’t miss!
Boxes are fun 🙂 Penny gets too excited and pees in them so I bought some at Home Depot for 69 cents to have spares 🙂
Now that’s hardcore! So far, my boys get new boxes when something comes by delivery in them.
They are so lovely… They love boxes… Thank you, love, nia
More of the same, only from Andy’s point of view tomorrow! If I do say so myself, the photos of Andy are sweeter than those of Dougy, mostly because Andy faced the camera better than his brother.
Yes, they sure do adore them!
Makes me smile to see how they take over boxes withouyt prompting! As soon as I bring boxes in, they are hanging around at my feet, getting in the way, trying to get into the boxes before I finish unpacking them. In fact, one of the photos of Dougy shows him standing on top of a box with computer speakers that came in one box…!
