Nothing seems more anxiety-inducing for Andy and Dougy than change. Today, there was change.
Yes, every time I clean their fountain, the boys act like I’m taking their water away forever, and run around the room trying to follow me while I carry the dirty fountain to the bathroom to dump the water.
I finally bought a second fountain so I could minimize downtime to how long it takes to move the old fountain out to the bathroom and come back to the dining room to put the clean fountain in place to be filled.
Even then, I have two little fuzzballs nervously watching the whole process, sniffing at the water jug, the empty fountain, me…!
In time, maybe they will get over their anxiety when they realize the bad old days are gone forever.
Ali did the same thing til we got her a second fountain. Must be a kitty thing.
Interesting! Yeah, that made a big difference having two of them. It makes changing filters, etc. much faster, as far as the kitties are concerned.
You have spoilt them rotten. My two get fed when I feed them. If they dance on my bed before I am ready to leave it, I just turn … they learned pretty soon they do not get what they want.
That’s the problem: the boys and I pretty much spend 24 hours a day together, with the exception of days I volunteer at a museum or take care of things like grocery shopping.
On weekends we do that, too – but my two still got to learn that not each meow and not each purr gets some snack.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
I get the same reaction when it’s time to eat as though I never feed the poor thing it’s funny how comfortable they get with their routine
No kidding! They force me out of bed (2:00 AM for a 2:30 AM feeding, which used to be a 6:30 AM feeding when I first got them as wee kittens!) In the afternoon, if I don’t feed them when they expect to be fed, they are hounding me till i do. No pun intended…!
What is more precious and more loaded of symbol as a fountain ? Those cats are intelligent and sensible
In friendship
Michel
It’s something they’ve come to expect since they were barely over 2 months old and first brought them home!
nice post 🙂
Thanks! I was worried it might be a bit thin after the day before, where I posted several photos…! (Excluding the post I reblogged…)
meh, it looks fine to me 🙂
Thanks again! As long as there was something worth stopping by for…!
no problem 🙂
