I didn’t do much today. My first mistake was turning on the TCM Channel and watching old movies till I realized the day was half over. What!?
Dougy kept coming over to me, trying to get me to pay attention to kitties instead of movies, so I did bring out Neko toys, scritch ears, stroke backs, and submit to a good “kneading” on my back. (The boys still have their claws…!)
Of course, I also fed them because the boys insist on a regular diet!
We’ll try to be more attentive tomorrow, kitties! But those were really good movies and I’d never seen them before.
Does your cable box have a dvr? You could record them and watch them after all their needs are met 🙂 Of course, when does a cat ever feel all their needs are met?
Yes and that’s for sure!
Cats are nothing if not persistent.
For sure! One may as well submit and get on with it than protest and try to avoid the little darlings!
What did you watch the h… with the fur, give liberty or give film
I worked kitties into the watching. They came around for scritches and nose rubs.
So, what movies engrossed you, Doug? I’m glad the boys didn’t starve to death. 🙂
They had Frederick March and/or Janet Gaynor in them. “A Star Is Born” was the best of the lot. Also, there were several Shirley Temple films, all of which I saw the first of, slept through the middle of, and saw the last of.
Lazy day here too and just look at that beautiful Dougy face.
Yeah, how true!
OK, so what were the movies?
Several Shirley Temple movies that I mostly slept through and The Frederick March/ Janet Gaynor version of “A Star IS Born”, which I liked better than the more recent Judy Garland version.
Oh I like that version of A Star is Born. Good choice.
Yeah! Perhaps because Janet Gaynor is less familiar to me, but she was more credible in the role than Judy Garland. Of course, Jody Garland had her own demons in real life that echoed the demons of her “husband” in the movie. That kind of ruined the Garland version for me. Plus, she was always a bit over-the-top big in any role she played, which isn’t to say bad, just more than needed to tell the story in some cases.
I didn’t think Judy was right for the part. Her daughter Liza would have done a better job in the role.
I liked Liza in “Caberet”, though I didn’t totally enjoy the movie.
Agreed.
🙂
Impossible to relax in watching TV with those two boys ; You have to obey 🙂

That is very true! Of course, when I decided to take two kittens into my home, I realized I’d given up privacy and peace and quiet! 🙂
