Post 857: Fuji the kitten loses the battle for survival. RIP, kitten…

RIP, kitten..

RIP, kitten..

Fuji the kitten had a short existence, yet many of us following his and his litter mates’ story fell head over heels in love with this little guy. Now we are in tears.

Anyone who’s lost a pet can understand how devastating it can be. In a short time, we become emotionally invested in their lives. This sad news Tuesday reminds me just how fragile kittens can be. It reminds me of how sick Andy and Dougy were when I first got them and how even now I can’t hug them enough, I am so grateful they survived.

Sweet little Fuji. RIP little guy. We barely got to know you through Doug and Sharon’s postings but I will miss following your story. You had a good and happy life while here and now you join Panther in our memories.

=(^+^)=

Every garden needs a cat. The lucky gardens have a kitten, too.

    • It’s been rough for the Browns but they posted a video today of the little family — Kami the mother and the five remaining kittens — to show life goes on and to let those who didn’t know yet about little Fuji know. It was unbearably sad, as you can imagine.

  1. Hi Doug, I can’t say I “like” the bad news, but dear little souls like Fuji need to be remembered by all. I know the pain of losing a dear cat companion. I will plant some daffodils here for him, and Panther, in the gardens.

    • The Browns will appreciate that, I think. I’ll pass the word on to them that you are doing this. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kind words. I know the Browns need our support now and all times as they foster cat families for VOKRA, a no-kill shelter in Vancouver.

    • I don’t know how the Browns deal with this sort of thing. After raising the kittens, they help place them in other homes, so this is an instance where, well, one stays with them.

    • The Browns invest a lot of time and love in raising abandoned cat families for a Vancouver shelter (VOKRA), and they were not ready to have this happen when the litter showed such promise.I send them hugs at this time when they need all the huigs they can get….

    • I try to focus on the joy they bring because there always is that sadness at the end. It’s part of the bargain, eh?! Thanks for your contribution, Sheldon. As always, you are spot on.

  2. It is so sad to hear this, dear Weggie, I know how the feeling is… There are cats that I had lost them in the past… Especially when I was a child, how hit me I remember… R.I.P. for this lovely kitten… They are all in their endless Cat Palace now… or do they come back to the earth in a different shape… 🙂 Some people believe this, you know… anyway, cats always make us happy… I haven’t heard that any cat left a bad memories, or unhappy things at the back… But think of this please, there are some people we never want to remember… Philiosophically hit me something now. Love, nia

    • The Browns really need to know how much love there is out in the world for people like them who take in abandoned kitty families and help socialize them so they can become beloved family members for others. They are special people in my mind. Thank you for your thoughts on this sad day.
