I’ve written before about the wand toy game Andy and Dougy invented. The most noticeable part of the game is how the cat inviting the brother to play meows piteously from some distant place till his brother comes running.
From that point, when both are at the wand toy, the boys begin to chase each other. The wand toy doesn’t seem to serve any specific purpose other than to announce the game has begun.
Though it seems to be a “keep-away” game, the wand toy never gets taken. All I know is it will be in a different place each time I see it. One or the other cat moves it at some point during the game, though I’ve rarely seen this happen.

A pitiful yowling alerts Dougy to the start of the game….!
This time it’s during the day, but last night it was after I went to bed.
Yes, last night the game took place while I tried to sleep! I guess I didn’t wear the boys down enough before I went to bed.
Of course, he and Andy were up last night playing, so, of course, he is a bit worn out this morning!
Dang cats!
Of course they needed to play while you were trying to sleep. What time could possibly be better?
LOL! That’s what the boys thought, too!
What a couple of characters!! The wand game here has me actively taking part and Kali watching. I’ve tried including Kali but she doesn’t want to play, just watch. I don’t know what Kali gets out of the game but she’s happy.

Sounds a bit like Andy. Dougy tends to be a play hog, so Andy has to wait till Dougy’s tired of the game before he gets involved. The alternative to that is for me to ignore Dougy and concentrate on getting Andy involved. I get back to Dougy, of course, but Andy gets to have some fun this way, too!
I am not sure I would be able to play this game that needs a lot of energy!! 🙂

That’s for sure! Fortunately (for me) they don’t need me to play the game, though it’s hard to ignore them when they start running through the house at top speed!
The boys even in all of their adorableness need to let Doug get some sleep so he can be their wide awake, alert slave during the day.
Yeah, you’d think they got the point!
Your two cats are so beautiful!
Thanks! They are that. As you can tell from the photo at the top of the blog, taken when they were about three months old and playing on the settee, they weren’t exactly beauties as kittens, though they were cute in their little way!
Ahahah! Yes, I think little kitty cats are always beautiful just because they are so small and sweet!
Yeah, seriously, it’s true!
