Post 948: A exceptional day at the window!

It’s rare both Andy and Dougy go to the window at the same time. “Personal space” issues, you know: “He’s my brother, but that means I don’t have to be nice to him if I choose!” Maybe it was the catnip….

Andy was there first. Then Dougy joined him. Something interesting outside, you bet!

Andy pops out from behind the blinds, but has to take a last look out the window.

Andy's curiosity is sated, so he leaves.

Andy’s curiosity is sated, so he leaves. Never one to waste time or energy, this kitty!

Dougy is pleased! Andy's leaving! "Don't let the door slam on yer tail!" says Dougy. Hee! Hee! Cat joke, that!

Hee! Hee! Cat joke, that! Andy hisses at his brother: “Stupid kitty!” He’s very sensitive about his tail.

  1. haha Kali and I don’t like sharing close quarters….except when we sleep. That’s about the only time we snuggle. I like the whole window to myself…then I can run along it and not have some white sack in the middle blocking my way. haha Kali has poor eyesight anyway….you have to stand right in front of her if you want some attention. So its easy to whomp her on the head from the side.

    (((Shoko)))

    • I know the routine. Dougy sometimes makes the mistake of trying to come up the recliner to get to the window. If Andy’s dozing in his favorite spot behind the printer, that means Dougy has to step over (or on) Andy to get to the window. We had a tussle just last night about this!

      • haha…this sounds so familiar! It was funny today. Shoko and I headed for the basement. Her with her harness on and me armed with a feather wand. The feather wand has lost most of its feather but we were game on playing. Shoko did play for awhile and then got persnickety about her haness. Into the basement came innocent Kali. Kali was having a good time sniffing her way around the basement. Shoko, who was acting like she was going to die with this contraption around her body, started stalking Kali. All thought of acting sway back went out the window. Shoko leaped out and scared the dickens out of Kali….who ran upstairs quickly. I could almost hear Shoko
        laughing.

    • Most likely a lot of little birds – pine siskins, house finches, house sparrows, house finches, maybe some American goldfinches. They all make use of a fir just outside that window. Of course, there could have been a kitty, too, watching the same birds with the same murderous intent as the boys!

          • Your tummy is bigger 😉
BTW, on the news this evening, there was a blip about popular names – I barely paid attention to it, but did notice that Andy was #4 for boys.

          • Unlikely but amazing! (Andy is fascinated that I stand under a shower of water sometimes, and wiull watch from a distance or until the first drop of water soaks through to his skin….! Dougy will have nothing to do with it, and is not curious about why I would stand in a shower of water!)

          • One my sister’s cats, Sox, likes to watch her take baths. Dougy is moire into coming over and sniffing my shorts when I’m oin the can -h how rude! — then hopping on the toilet reservoir. From there, he hops on the sink, to sniff everything there, then to end his snoop by checking out that kitty in the mirror. I think I prefer Andy’s routine, though it is less entertaining than Dougy’s!

          • If one wants to come out of the tub/shower sans fur, it is wise to lock Purrseidon out. On one occasion, when we forgot to do that, she heard the water running, when we were giving the dog a bath and came barreling in – chased the dog out of the tub and proceeded to paddle around… mega cleaning/mopping problem.

          • Let us just say the floors got cleaned earlier than planned… and I have not forgotten to lock the door since… this causes a lot of yowls, but no mess.

          • I could use this in my bathroom just now, but I think I’ll go the conventional route. Besides, I don’;t have a dog….! LOL! (Still laughing – what a great story, Jeanne!)
