The boys discovered they can watch birds from the cat tree just as easily as in the window, and the birds stick around longer. Of course, the birds don’t have a big kitty a foot or less away like they do when the boys window sit!

I was able to distract Dougy long enough for a rare head on shot. He gave me half a second before he went back to bird watching. He has his priorities.
“Hey! I’m busy! Take your photo and leave me alone!”

That’s a great picture of Dougy! I’d say the best you have taken. Good going Doug and Dougy. I have many a shot of a furry butt. Great shots of tails and they leave. I’m delighted if I actually get a face whether fuzzy or not. A clear shot with eyes open is a cause for celebration! I’m not hard to please. hehe

Yes, I agree! Anyway, thanks for the comment, Michel. I have lots of challenges getting photos of my two black kitties, so am happy when I manage to get something usable.

Ours take turns watching the feeder, often doing the “mouth chatter” thing. The birds have learned the cats are in and they are out, and sometimes look in the window at them.
So far, I haven’t sen the birds watch the cats, but I imagine that day’s coming since cold and snow will limit their natural food sources.
I’ll bet it’s not ‘just this once’. You’ll keep trying. 🙂
I have scores of “tries” for each used photo…! Don’t think I’m not a a fan of digital cameras! I can’t imagine how differently I’d approach kitty photography if I still used my film-based Nikons. I’d go broke!
