We got enough snow over night that the maintenance people where I live haven’t been able to clear the lanes and walks in time for me to take off for the military museum. I’m snowed in.
It isn’t deep all over, but there are drifts just outside my front and back doors and along the driver side of my car, which is parked across the snow-covered lane.
The snow doesn’t change the cat brothers’ plans. They always have their fun, regardless of the weather outside.
Turns out the museum is closed today anyway because of snow. I feel better about not making it to “work” now!
What a lot of snow..here alone rain buit warm for december 14 ° celcius
I could handle that! Of course, you won’t have an Elfstedentocht in such a year unless you have water skis!
It must be great to be an indoor cat during the winter – heat vents, fleece beds, bed warmers, blankets, no stress about getting out.
Don’t forget the kitty treats for being “good kitties”!
Oh man, you have got a lot of snow. When I saw the picture, I was thinking of the shovel and scrapping all the snow out. Clearing.
The brothers are lucky, they don’t have to go anywhere.
I thought about going for groceries this morning, then cat food later after the veterinarian clinic opens, but I have enough food on hand for the boys and me that I can wait till Monday even and be OK. I will eat things like tuna sandwiches and beans toward the end, but I won’t starve. Nor will the boys!
Thats a lot of white cold stuff there and I love this photo of Andy. What a beautiful boy he is,
I think Andy has a prettier face than his brother. Dougy has a cute face, but it isn’t what I’d call a pretty one.
Lot of snow!
It was enough! Of course, the real problem was the drifiting.
Where is home?
Western Nebraska.
Ahhhhhh, thanks.
It’s an historically interesting area for people with interests in frontier forts and paleontology. You still can see ruts in the hills where pioneers crossed the territory to get west in the mid-1800s.
Fascinating….
Wounded Knee happene just about a hour’s drive away from where I live, and Crazy Horse was killed at Ft. Robinson, Nebraska, which is a hour away another direction. The Oregon Trail is about thirty minutes’ drive south of where I live. There was an air base here during WWII where D Day glider and parachute troops trained.
Home State of Andy the Cat and Ted Kooser.
Yes, and we are proud of both of them!
WOW! It’s been such a long time for me to see snow like that!!!!! I hope we don’t have this year… Stay in warm with your cats dear Weggie, cats are the best friends especially when you have nothing to do 🙂 Thank you, love, nia
Good advice, Nia! I aslso stayed warm looking at your wonderful photos for the day! (You do a great job with your local cats and nature shots, but it is fun seeing Turkey through your eyes, too!)
Thank you dear Weggie, I am humbled now 🙂 you are so nice. Love, nia
You are a very skilled photographer, Nia, and I appreciate your beautiful work!
Great shot of Andy. I am sorry you already have snow- I am dreaming of a non-white Christmas.
I had an Indonesian penpal when I was a kid, and he told me one of his favorite songs was “White Christmas”! LOL! Clearly, he’d never experienced a blizzard on the High Plains!
It must be nice to have a single mind where you can focus on one thing at a time
God to be a cat
Yeah, I’d have to agree with you there, Sheldon! Kitties have it good.
oh, my! Rained all day here but made it to 51C. Weather’s weird this year!!! (climate change? el nino? global warming?)
It’s a bit chillier than average here this year, but 2013, on this day, it was 73°F! Of course, same day in 2008, it was -8°F It’s 19°F at 5:13 am, and won’t get much warmer today.
We had a small dump of snow last night too. They just plowed yesterday but what’s on the road will probably melt and turn to ice. No worries.
Shoko
We got around 30cm or so of snow, with drifting
That is plenty of snow…dang near a foot…We don’t usually get that till after Christmas. Driving is pretty rough and most places are closed…like your town…too much to deal with.
It’s the drifting that makes it a mess. Of course, add a bit of wind with it, and you have ground blizzards and treacherous roads.
Good lord….be very careful my friend….I know those conditions only too well and they stink.
I’ve still not gone out in it. Living as I do in a retirement community, I could slip on the icey road and no one would notice me till the spring thaw! LOL!
Stay home then…a retirement community sounds so nice. Today its been snowing the whole day and there are so many accidents the RCMP can’t keep up with them. This is the first heavy snowfall of the season and peeps are really, sorry to say this but STUPID. Peeps still have to drive like its summer and don’t get me started about these jerks with 4 by 4’s. Nice day to stay inside.
So it is isn’t only Americans in 4 X 4’s who don’t understand the laws of physics still apply to them in snow…!
Mol! 😹 The boys arranged to have the museum closed just to keep you to themselves today!!
Now you’re scaring me! LOL!
Mol!!😹
LOVE the photos! Our AC is still on, but a cold front is expected this weekend and it is supposed to get into the upper 70s.
Snow is pretty before we trample through it, but it definitely messes things up.
