It took Andy almost four and a half years to figure it out, but he finally realized the bathroom sink is a perfect kitty den.
Snug and secure, Andy now likes the sink for his naps.
Stick your tongue out at me, buster….!
On the plus side, capturing Andy here to give him medicine is a snap.
Of course, the top of my computer still works fine for Andy’s baths, too!
I would have predicted Dougy to be the first brother to figure it out since he always hops up on the sink when I’m using the “throne”, snoops around, looks in the mirror, they hops back to the floor. Maybe the kitty looking back at him is too scary!

It’s still his favorite place to spend the sleepy parts of his day…morning, noon, and night!

It is amazing to see a cat happily lounging in a dry sink. Purrseidon has learned to turn on the faucet….
Of my two kitties, Andy is the more clever one, I think, and I hope he learns to do this. Of course, I’d hope he’d turn it off when done, too, which is less likely. My thought, though, is if I even dropped dead (how’s that for a cheery thought), the kitties could at least have water till someone rescued them. I have a neighbor who is pretty good about checking up on me, and he is aware of my cats.
It is always good to have good neighbors and clever pets.
Yeah, now if only Andy and Dougy could be taught to clean their own sand boxes…!
Rom and Mr. M learned to use the toilet, but neither flush.
That would be a start anyway! LOL! I think Andy would be neat about it, but I think Dougy would probably hit or miss every time, and I’d still have cat poop to clean up!
And I haven’t made the effort to try and show Purrseidon this option because I fear she would be so distracted by the possibility of playing in the water, she wouldn’t pay attention to the lesson.
Both mine react to water the way cats do: one drop, and they wince and contort like you dropped straight sulfuric acid on them!
Mr. M would approve of their reactions … if I’m any judge of body language, he doesn’t approve of Purrseidon’s water obsession. In fact, the only times I’ve seen him move fast is when Ms. Purr came home from the beach – didn’t know the old fella could sprint.
They can be amazingly fast if given the right incentive! Andy and Dougy like to chase each other, and it is a good idea not to be in their way when they zip by….!
Purrseidon likes to move fast, but M refuses, so when she wants fast, she needs to play/wrestle/chase/fight with Saphera.
SAme at my house. The boys are down right sedentary until they have that little burst of energy and chase each other. Then, it is mayhem at a high speed!
Yep, our house goes for peaceful to ‘roller derby’ with a flick of a tail.
