It snowed over night. In fact, it’s spitting a bit of snow even as I type.Dougy’s happy about it. Andy and I would just as soon it not snow.
Snow at the front door. As usual, it blocks my exit.
Dougy’s right there, sniffing and tasting the white stuff.
I have to close the door quickly to keep him from following his nose!
> nom! nom! nom! <
Andy and I don’t get Dougy’s enthusiasm for snow. He surely understands it is just water in another form!

Please read : ” we have no snow here ….”
I enjoyed the photos of your Christmas family dinner, Michel! The flaming Christmas pudding is something my Scottish grandmother might make, and I confess I feel a bit of sadness thinking about family meals when she was still alive. Her specialty: homemade egg noodles with chicken and lemon meringue pie for dessert.
We have no qnow here but a rotten winy=ter ; a cold wet wih sometimes sun!!!!!! The plants are a lot in advance and some already in bloom..
In friendship
Michel
Our Canadian friend Tom of Bromont, Quebec, notes his grass is green still and needs m0wing!
Wow! So much snow there 🙂 In here, they say last day of the year snow would be snowing… 🙂 Thank you, it is nice and good to be indoor lovely cats 🙂 Love, nia
Still lots of snow on the ground here today. Once it sticks, it sticks for a long time, eh?!
Today there was a beautiful weather in here and it is expected snow on wednesday… I can’t believe this…
I’ll look forward to seeing your snow photos in the coming days, then!
Still waiting fur our snow – dangit!😾
I’ll send you some….!
Yahooooooooo!! *getting my snow paws on *😺
We want snow. I bring some in and put it in a bowl for Ali and she can never figure out why it disappears when she puts her paw in and bats it out of the bowl.
I can see it in my mind’s eye? I bet it’s cute to see.
we’ve had nothing but rain – !!! very gloomy. I’m sure we’re going to get pounded in a month or two!! Woof!
I like rain over snow any day….!
Today it’s like ice-rain-snow mixed, very heavy, hard to shovel, the car got stuck in driveway 3 times. Exasperating!!
Ice is the worst, especially when mixed with snow. You have my sympathy there. I hated scooping the stuff or trying to maneuver in it with my car.
I don’t get it either. I was hoping for a snow free winter, but that is not going to happen- snow predicted here for Monday.
We seem to be in for a colder, snowier winter this year than other years.
Just put skies on the front of the car
They had such a thing for Model T Fords, and it looked like a pretty smart solution to winter driving. Also, it looked fun!
I’ve seen them
Look like fun, too, don’t they!?
Merry Xmas to you and the boys!
And to you, too! I enjoy your retro movie star posts since I watch a lot of old movies! You always seem to find just the right photos.
Thank you! 🙂
You are welcome! As noted, I find your blog a treat!
I biked in shorts and a t-shirt. It has been a very warm winter for N-Florida. Unfortunately the mosquitos are loving it a bit too much for my taste.
Ugh! I am mosquito bait myself!
I would take a half of your snow 🙂 Have a safe, healthy and happy New Year!
I’m a generous man: I’d give you 100% of my snow! LOL!
Haha, that’s generous indeed 🙂
That’s the kind of guy I am….!
I see 🙂 Any rain? We have plenty 🙂
June is the rainy month here, typically, and December is the month where we get very little precipitation, typically.
I love my June sunny 🙂 I’d rather have a rainy December.
I personally like rain, especially instead of snow….!
Hehe, google “floods in Ireland”
We get flash flood warnings here, high and dry on the northern plains. It sounds goofy and improbable, but there are places where you can get a shock if you can’t get to high ground, fast!
Flash flood sounds dangerous.
They are sudden and very dangerous indeed!
🙁
We had about an inch of snow in Ballarat 15 years ago. It was fun an it lasted until just after lunch time. But I guess you don’t have too many bushfires in the summer time.
We do get prairie fires from lightning strikes (mostly), and they are scary things because of the speed with which they charge across the land. I don’t think we have anything that compares with what you experience in Australia, though the brush fires in California each year may be as bad.
There’s always a snow-lover lurking in the midst of the normal folks. 🙂
How true! How true!
I knew there was a reason I really liked Dougy….he seems to be more like me….a fun guy! Mom planted a clematis at the side of the porch and this stopped the snow from rolling up and onto our door. Granted the clematis is very happy and a great big guy. hehe
Happy Boxing Day my friend.
What a happy solution! Clematis come in a nice variety, too. I always like them, but haven’t planted any where I live now.
Ours just took off….obviously very happy. Ask the nursery which clematis is best suited for your area and make sure you get somewhere near where the wind blows. I have always wanted to be clever enough to clip some clematis off and start my own. *sigh* The only thing I have managed to do that to is an African Violet.
That’s a great way to get plants for free….! Anyway, don’t give up on trying to start your clematis from a clipping.
Tasty snow! Sorry it is blocking your door, though. That isn’t fun. How many feet do you normally get in a season?
Still no snow, although it is a frosty 24 degrees here this morning at daybreak.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliance,_Nebraska#Climate
Not that much — if the wind doesn’t drift it! Looks like about 20cm, maybe a bit less, today.
20 not much? Sounds like a lot to me in northrn Germany!
If you have to drive or walk in it, it is.
Amazing. \you have snow, while I sit here and the whitest thing I’ve seen this winter is some frost on the grass this morning! :-/
For that matter, the Pacific Northwest seems to have been blessed with a record snow for that area. What we got is typical for this part of the US this time of year, but you folks east of us seem to be caught in Springtime or early summer!
It’s scary here. I actually have flowers coming up. I could have mowed my lawn! (But didn’t) It’s minus 3 Celsius, when it should be -12 to -15!!!
You don’t want to encourage lawns to be mowed….! LOL!
I quickly grabbed my camera and ran over to my friends barn and took pictures instead! 🙂
Good move! The grass will do what grass does, but you know have proof that “it” did it in December~ !
LOL, True! sneaky grass. 😉
Something to talk about, come summer!
