Post 976: “…and your enemies closer….”

You’ve heard the axiom before: “Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.” Andy apparently has, too.

Around the time I give Andy his daily dose of medicine, we become enemy combatants, Andy in his  armed camp, and me in mine. I intend to give him his medicine and a little loving, and he intends not to play my game.

Andy, pretending to be cool, but watching me closely for signs I'm about to get up to snatch him away to give him his medicine...!

Andy's suspicious now. He's spotted a slight change in my body position that he suspects is the next step before he gets snatched up and given medicine! (He guessed correctly, but I caught the little rascal anyway.)

Andy’s “medicine face”….

Oh the high drama! The pitiful protests! The struggle to avoid the inevitable and necessary dose of medicine! No, Andy, I am not pulling your tail off. I’m giving you something to help your blood pressure. (Yes, cats can have high blood pressure! And you thought they lived the life of Riley, no stress in their pampered little homes!)

Post 975: snowed in…

We got enough snow over night that the maintenance people where I live haven’t been able to clear the lanes and walks in time for me to take off for the military museum. I’m snowed in.

Drifted in....

Drifted in….

It isn’t deep all over, but there are drifts just outside my front and back doors and along the driver side of my car, which is parked across the snow-covered lane.

It's worse on the driver's side....

The snow doesn’t change the cat brothers’ plans. They always have their fun, regardless of the weather outside.

Andy has the best plan: watch birds out the back window! Or me at the computer, whichever is mroe exciting at the moment.

Turns out the museum is closed today anyway because of snow. I feel better about not making it to “work” now!

Post 974: another snowy day…

It’s another snowy day here. I wrote my brother. I printed out the Benji the pup interviews fort him because, well, my brother loves critters, too, and I think he’ll get a charge out of the story of Benji.

Dougy snooped over my shoulder. “No, really, I’m looking out the window at the snow,” he protested. “The snow’s in the other direction, kitty.” “Meow…!” Some things never change.

I didn't notice that until I uploaded the file on my computer. I got your number, buster!

Post 973: birds on the feeder…!

The boys discovered they can watch birds from the cat tree just as easily as in the window, and the birds stick around longer. Of course, the birds don’t have a big kitty a foot or less away like they do when the boys window sit!

I was able to distract Dougy long enough for a rare head on shot. He gave me half a second before he went back to bird watching. He has his priorities.

"Hey! I'm busy! Take your photo and leave me alone!" OK, Dougy. Just this once.

Post 972: Much better today, thank you!

I think I licked whatever it was I was dealing with this week. I feel a lot better today, though I haven’t figured out if my stomach truly is ready for something other than toast and jam or I just think it is. We’ll find out…!

Andy's keeping an eye out on me. Dougy's catching up on his rest after spending the morning bugging me to give him some kitty loving!

Other than that, it’s snowing here. Andy just noticed that, and decided the falling snow is more interesting than watching me. Go figure!

Post 971: More urp…and I hope this is it!

I still feel urppy today, if a bit better. This photo of Dougy kind of captures how I feel:

Yep! Out of focus and tongue hanging out! That's how I feel today.

Most disappointing of all: I was invited to a wine tasting at some friends’ housewarming party, and it was the one social event of the season I actually wanted to attend. Life is not fair.

Post 970: Urp….!

Sorry, but I have a really sour stomach today. I cancelled one plan to get together with old friends at a new restaurant. I just didn’t think I could handle food, no matter how good. In fact, just writing “food” brought about an involuntary gurgle in my stomach, a rebellion I’ve been fighting for a day now.

In lieu of anything, though, I am posting a Dougy photo. He’s my main boy, you know. He worries if I don’t get out of bed fast enough for him, and he will hang out with me until he’s sure I’m, erm, “not dead”!!

It’s a good one of him, I think, amazingly, since I only made one shot of him today, and it turned out to be dang decent. All I can figure is Dougy felt sorry for me. LOL!dougy 121015

Post 969: Dougy gets caught snooping…

Dougy' s curious about what I'm doing on the computer. Of course, he's my snoopy boy!

Post 968: Dougy’s fine day…

Once in a long time, I can catch Dougy in a cooperative mood to be photographed. Today was such a day, so I took as many photos of the little darling as I could before he remembered he doesn’t like being photographed. Some even turned out pretty decent!
