The boys returned to most of the old routines much more quickly than I expected. One they haven’t returned to is the 1:30 AM feeding schedule. Of course, I’m not encouraging them to. LOL!
I bought groceries this morning. The store has a new electric cart with shopping basket that I used. It made the task doable and fast. I was a bit concerned about all the walking I’d have to do since the store was enlarged recently. I still have to carry the groceries in once I get home, though that was easy enough.
Along with buying groceries, I made my first meals at home since getting back. That was one of the concerns of the people doing my therapy. I’ve made my own meals for years, so this was a snap. I just was a bit more careful about ingredients and ate my potassium blocker before eating, like a good boy. (In this case, the blocker is simple Tums, which I take in fruit flavors. Why not?!)
Andy and Dougy aren’t eating their wet food like I like them to. I put a supplement in the wet food that controls “eye snot”, that goopy eye thing Persians often have. Dougy gets it worst, though he cleans most of it off without help. (It isn’t as grim as hairballs, but it gets close sometimes….!)
I still haven’t resolved my PC issues or how to post new photos. I feel an expensive month coming up.

I thought 5:00 AM was a difficult time for feeding!! Glad the boys seem to have adapted an easier policy for your recovery.
Their predecessor, Louie, expected a 6 o’clock feeding. I whined about that until the kitty brothers came around and expected 1:30. I still wake up around that time, but go back to sleep. Dougy makes his nighttime rounds, which includes stopping by to walk on me and so one, but they wait till I get up to be fed. Andy just sleeps on a nightstand next to my bed. Periodically, he’ll get in the window to watch the night time scene.

Eye snot is a big issue with Persians, so maybe it is well the conversation got repeated! LOL!

Fortunately, I love fresh vegetables and the use of herbs and spices to enhance food instead of salt and chemicals. The transition will be much easier for me in consequence.

As noted elsewhere, they get fed when I get up at a more agreeable hour! I was especially happy they didn’t expect the return to 1:30 feeding. Of course, when I was gone, the people taking cvare of them stopped feeding them wet food because they felt they wasted most of it. Those Persian mugs make eating certain foods a bit harder than for their long-snouted kitty sisters and brothers. At least one company produces food specifically for Persians. The shape is easier for them to eat.

Good luck with the PC! I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my own system recently to fix some issues.
I will lewt someone else fix it, having failed on all counts so far….! Other than that, we are doing well, if at a slower pace. (Dougy’s whining about something. Better figure it out or I’ll have an upset kitty for sure!) Oh, he still wants top play with the wand toy!

Thanks, Michel! Yes, the meal was delicious and just the way I like it. After eating institutional meals for two months, it was especially good to have vegetables that weren’t over-cooked, for example.
It’s surprising how quickly things can get back to normal, and equally surprising how you can usually find a way to do difficult things….except mend a computer, of course!
For sure! Curiously enough, up to the day before I got home, it was updating without a problem, according to the log, then, on the day I got back, it got digital constipation and wouldn’t download the updates for some reason. It refuses to acknowledge it is on a WiFi network and acts like it’s never been able to access the Internet. Jeez!

Gotta love those electric carts.When my difficulties are acting up, its great to ride in the cart around Costco or Superstore…..2 huge stores.

That’s the problem I have: too big a store to walk. On top of that, in their recent expansion, they reorganized where things are, so I had to double back for several items. Had I been using my footpower, I wouldn’t have made it the other day.
I am glad the store had the cart to help you along. How do cats know when we add stuff to their food-and not eat it-they are pretty smart.
Yes, the cart was a good addition to their services! You aren’t kidding about cats and their ability to avoid things you add to their food by not eating it. The L-Lysine tablets were a bust, though they will eat food with the paste form mixed in. I’m glad Andy’s medicine is in liquid form….!

Yes, that’s not the most appealing thing to have on the mind while eating! I hope I am able to keep this up, for sure. I feel I am getting stronger and better at dealing with the vicissitudes of my new normal, though.
