It isn’t a fix so much as another way to do the same thing. Yes, I can’t use an camera’s memory gizmo to put photos on my computer just now. But…! But I can use my webcam! It puts photos and videos in strange places, but I usually find them eventually, just as I did today.
For example, today Dougy was watching birds (pine siskins) outside the back window….
In some respects, the webcam takes better photos than the camera. Bad light, for example, is less of an issue with the webcam. Happy days! I’m glad I remembered the webcam.
Since you have discovered the joys of the web camera you should probably also be aware that there are a lot of warnings circulating out there about how hackers can take control of your webcam and watch everything you do and if your computer mike is turned on they can also hear you. It is for that reason that I have my mike turned off and a piece of masking tape solidly over the lense on my webcam until such time as I decide to use it — which is rare indeed.
I have taken similar precautions. It’s a pain to take it off when I use the webcam, but I’d hate to bore some hacker to death with my boring life!
Thanks for your comment, Weggieboy, I have missed hearing from you. I always appreciate your comments.
You’ve changed you blog name since the lest time I stopped by. Now that I know your new one, I’ll enjoy your point of view again, John! Doug
That is so very kind of you, Doug and I shall enjoy reading about the kitties again. I have to keep on the move because you never know who is out there and I do talk about some fairly serious and controversial stuff sometimes.
And how! I’m sure you have to put up with more BS than I do with my little kitty blog. Ha!
LOL — I have a thick skin, Doug .. and lots of it to spare. 🙂
Writing what you have (sometimes), I have no doubt of that, but you blog oftentimes has interest simply because it is well written and about simple thinghs like a meal you enjoyed or the evolution of your bathing practices from a tubn to a multi-headed shower. (That one was especially interesting to me just now since I can’t get my dialysis ports wet, meaning showers are history till I have surgery to create a dialysis fistula.
You are awfully kind, Doug and I appreciate your nice words as well as your continued readership and I do like it especially well when you comment on something.
John, it takes a blogger to appreciate how important those comments can be, positive or not. I try to answer all comments for that reason. I know you do, too.
It’s nice to get a glimpse of you and a corner of your home, as well as The Boss.
It’s not usually this neat…if you call that “neat”! I have a high tolerance for clutter.
MOL Talk about lost in thought. Dougy is thinking of what he could do with a bird…MOL
Shoko
I think he would know exactly what to try, anyway!
MOL Fur sure.
Isn’t technology [REDACTED] grand?
Yeah. Now it’s my chirping fire detectors humming at a high pitch. The powers that be have been aware of this since the start of March. I lived with the chirp. The high pitched hum will kill all love I have of my landlord….!
Good to see you all, Doug. The boys are looking great and I am sure they are glad to have you home again! You are looking pretty good too, considering all you have been through with your illness. Glad the webcam is working, and is a good substitute.
Andy’s going to have to cooperate next post so I can have all three of us shown this week.
You are looking pretty good for being ill so long – way to go Doug! And here’s to giving me a new photo of my buddy, Dougie!
Actually, I thought immediately of you when Dougy popped up after my realization of an alternative way to photograph the boys. (You are his Nr. 1 fan, GP!)
Just as long as HE knows it!!
Where do you think he gets his cattitude?!
We’ve ALL known where it comes from, Doouugg….. not that we’re pointing any fingers or anything… 🙂
I hope not!
Careful…the boys may use it for blackmail…LOL chuq
Or someone might sneak a peak at my really boring (to anyone but me) lifestyle. Hee! Hee!
That is a possibility….but I think they would do better chasing their “ghosts” and leave us boring people alone.
Yeah, I agree.
He lools like I feel right after Chemo
Dougy in the last photo, or me in the first? LOL!
Dougy in the last . 😀
Yeah, that’s precious, eh?!
He is adorable.
Lots of personality, too!
You all are looking great and in good shape! 😀
Thanks! I lost 27.22 kilograms since last December. It was fluid weight, and most of it came off during dialysis. Just having all that weight off helps make me feel a lot better.
and you REALLY look great, so the boys I find them even more gorgeous and feline!
Thanks! Taking off the weight helped, and the boys got cut a bit longer the last time they were at the groomer.
I don’t think IQ has any relationship to figuring out technology… I think it is more like we get used to doing things one way and don’t think about alternatives, unless we must.
I should hope not!
Nice to see you all together 🙂 Thank you, Love, nia
Yes, it is a rare sight!
