Post 1067: morning at the cat house…

We start our day early here (middle of the night…) so that the day is half over by the time the sun comes up. It seems reasonable, then, that the kitty boys are more interested in low-energy activities like watching birds out the window or door… or sleeping.

Andy turns on his laser eyes in case I try to pick him up to give him loving!

Though Dougy always tries to avoid getting camera flash, sometimes I just catch him asleep. He's been eating - notice the kitty food crumbs clinging to his face?

Did I say "kitty food"!? The power of suggestion sends Andy to the kitty food for a light snack.

  1. Love the laser eyes!. It’s nice to know I am not alone in getting an early start, even in summer this house is up before the sun. In mid day it is too hot and humid so all of us are doing the low energy thing. Cats are smart and I think humans who emulate them are too.

    • You got that exactly right, Angela! I’ve discovered, too, that being a person on dialysis, I tend to get over-whelmed pretty easily by the heat. Specifically, I get faint because I am on a regimen where I have to keep track of my fluid intake, which is supposed to be 40 ounces (1.18 liters) a day. When you sweat in the heat, you have to rehydrate, of course, and that is problematic, a big guess so you stay within the limit but don’t guess too low or passing out is a real risk. (This almost happened to me the other day!) Too much fluid, and you have swelling in the extremities. Anyway, you are right about learning from how our pets deal with the heat of the day1

  2. MOL It’s not like that here. We sleep until 8am and then we eat and are gone….me anyway. Kali has a sleep. Mom is stunned and doesn’t wake up for another hour. So if you get an e-mail from her before 10pm….its probably a message that you won’t understand.

    Shoko

    • Wow! I can’t imagine having that many cats! As long as a person cares for their physical and emotional needs, though ( the case in the video), I say more cats to them!

      • Yes it is amazing, I’ve known about this place for years but never visited. However once in a while i send them a mite…AND I DO MEAN A MITE. Though they have never contacted me and asked for anything. I usually just go to watch. ~~dru~~
