Remember Benji the pup? His interview by Andy and Dougy and their interview by Benji was a well-received feature of this blog some months back. Now, Benji is mostly grown up and starting education for a new job as therapy dog! How exciting this is! To see what he looks like now, click on the link at the end of this posting. There’s also a puppy photo of Benji for comparison.
Wish you a fine day and thanks for your friendly words on my blog
I am encouraged by comments from others on mine, and I feel it is important to recognize the excellence of other people’s blogs, too! Yours always is exceptional.
Benji is such a beautiful soul, and will be a great therapy dog.
I had a friend with a Hospice dog whom everyone loved. He finally passed on, and we lost our friend this winter from cancer. She ended up in Hospice herself. I like to think his spirit was there to help take her home.
Aw…I liker to think that, too.
I am sure his spirit was helping her.
I agree.
I watched 10 month old Benji on Anarette . He is a beautiful dog .
However I did not find the photo when he was a very young puppy.
The therapy dogs brng much comfort for old people who have to live in a home .
In friendship
Michel
happy to see he goes on therapy
Yes, it’s a great plan for Benji, who is a shelter rescue pup.
I hope he will show the world that shelter pets rock.
Any of us who’ve adopted a shelter pet sincerely hope so, too! I will reblog your post the day you put up Benji’s graduation photo!
very cute dog.
I want to pet him every time I see his photo! Though I am primarily a cat person now, I still love dogs, too!
Benji would love that too for sure 🙂
He looks like he would!
Sweet.
I can’t wait to see his graduation photo! He looks like a winner to me, and =, from how Anarette describes him, he has a very appealing personality that should work well as a service dog qualification.
How exciting. Mom has been trying to get Kali as a therapy cat so Kali can accompany mom on her rounds at Gateway Seniors facility. There is no program for cats in this town and to even find a programme in BC is difficult but mom and her friend at St Jon’s are trying to get the proper info and be able to find the cats safe for Therapy Visits. Meanwhile mom is not allowed to bring Kali with her.
Shoko
I’d think you might have one in Vancouver at least, though I don’t know how far that is from you.
Vancouver is over 500 miles from us. I am sure you’re right but protocol has to be followed and that’s why my friend at St. John is handling it. She’s much more attuned to the politics and she has a smoothing way about her.
Good luck! It’s a noble cause for sure, and I’ll be interested to know when you work through the process!
You may want to contact the local senior center directly to see if you can set up something with the local dog obedience club.
Good suggestion. They would, reasonably enough, have contact with such services, and contacting them would take you one step closer to accomplishing the deed!
Not a bad idea Anarette. Thank you my friend.
