I visited an old friend in the hospital today. It was an enjoyable time spent talking about pretty much everything. I was encouraged Bob, my friend (and father of my good friend Ralph, the guy in Paris), was healing from a fall that resulted in a broken hip and talking about future plans.
Bob is 90 but he has a future! Keep that in mind if you ever feel down. A positive attitude might not get you to 90, but it makes the road a lot straighter. I felt like I’d been to church, I felt so upbeat after my visit with Bob. And I basically am a positive person.
That means, though, that I didn’t play around and try to correct the problem with my uploading of photos for this blog. (Dougy just stopped by and said “meow” in disappointment because he knows there are hundreds of people who want to know what mischief he and his brother got into today.) I don’t have something new, but I share this with you, more retro kitty photos:
90 and a future. I like that, Doug! Your visit with him was good for both of you. 🙂
Yes, it was!
You were encouraging Bob but Bob encouraged you too, Doug

Yes, very true!
I had no idea that Dougy was a juvenile delinquent! Does he still sharpen his claws inappropriately?
Always! You should see my computer chair.
Purr was finally cured by gluing claw protectors on her middle 3 front toes of each paw. Of course, they came off after a few days, but it broke the habit.
Too late for that here, I think, Jean. Dougy’s pretty much destroyed or begun to destroy anything of value….
That is unfortunate.
I have the attitude that if you can’t handle chaos in your life, you shouldn’t have cats!
That would be a good philosophy for kids, too.
Very similar to young children, isn’t it!?
(Your blog waqs very interesting today. Of course, yours often have excellent information for cat and dog people. I highly recommend people check your blog out, Jeanne! It’s fun, it’s informative, it’s well worth a stop to look through!)
Thank you for your kind words.
By this time, I forgot what I wrote this morning 😉 so I had to go check what I wrote ;-)))
The mix of pet humor and information is similar to the Sea Purrtector Series (which is written from a cat’s point of view). For instance, I just finished the rough draft of Me-YEOW! – there are mishaps, one of which inspired Xander to hop into a hot tub, there is also information on various aspects of flight (wing shape, downdrafts, etc.).
I keep forgetting you have several books out….!
If you ever want to write an honest Amazon review in exchange for a free e book, let me know.
I’ll keep it in mind! I don’t have a Kindle or whatever. I guess one can download to a PC or laptop, but I’ve never looked into that.
I usually give the complimentary review copies through Smashwords, which allows you to upload them to a reader or get a pdf copy to read on your computer.
I’m willing, then! The PDF format would work for me.
If you would like a copy of Red Claw, email me at jeannefoguth.author@gmail.com and Smashwords will send you a pickup code – you can then choose which format you want & where to download it – while you’re there, if you like, you can also get a copy of Latitudes & Cattitudes, which is the very short prequel to the series and free.
Will do!
Bob sounds amazing. Broken hips are a problem with older people, so many seem to fade away after an accident like that. He must be a very positive person indeed, hospital visits are not usually so uplifting.
Bob is a remarkable man, and I am pleased to have had him as a friend for many decades, thanks to the initial friendship with his equally remarkable son. I don’t usually enjoy hospital visits, but this one was just as I reported in my blog!
Thank you for your encouraging words.
We’re here to help each other! Or encourage each pother when we notice something of excellence. I enjoy you posts, John! In fact, I encourage readers of this comment to take a look at your blog if they enjoy well-documented and reported history or rare bird occurrences in England.
Dougy and Shoko must be related. I am tired because of worrying about Shoko who slept like a rock beside me last night. I lay down today cause I was falling asleep at the computer. Shoko came in with me and each time I was falling asleep she would tap me on the arm. I finally got up and so did Shoko. She has had her painkiller and is sound asleep in her condo. Think I’m safe to lay down now. Talk more later.
Jean
Jean, isn’t it amazing how many similarities we’ve found between out kitties? Sometimes, reading your comments, I think I could be reading about Andy and Dougy.
They are spookily similar.
It’s kind of fun, though, reading how much so that is!
I love how cats train us. Mine do. Dougy and Andy are so cute.
Thanks! Yes, I remember when I used to sleep at night. LOL!
Love those faces and what a pain you still can not download photos.
I got one last suggestion, and I think it must have done the trick because three photos in today’s post uploaded with no issues and in typical time. I had accidentally turned on a second security program, and the suggestion to turn off my security when uploading m just have had something to do with it. I mean, August 12th, everything loaded just like always, and the next day began the days of hell.
This morning, I checked all possible security programs (Microsoft, Norton, Kaspersky) to make sure none was working other than the Kaspersky security program. Norton is supposedly deleted; Microsoft supposedly is turned off (but wasn’t); Kaspersky is supposedly the one protecting my nasty computer and is…
That noted, I hope today’s drama-less upload signals that happy days are here again!
Incidentally, that is one fantastic birdhouse your two birds get to share!
And I thought he was a perfect kitty. 😉
Kitty, yes! He is a bad boy, though I love him just the same! Andy is much better behaved, but I sometimes worry he doesn’t have as much fun as his brother.
I always liked the rascals when I was teaching in school. And most of them were the ones who still remember me. Make of it what you may.
My mother taught, too, at the grade school level. Her favorites were the ones who acted up because they were the ones other teachers thought were unteachable, trouble. She loved the challenge of finding ways to redirect that naughty energy into positive learning. (Perhaps she got lots of practice with her own four children, but we aren’t talking….! Ha!)
Your mother must have been an outstanding woman.
I’m biased, of course, but I think she genuinely was!
A loud cheer for good mothers.
One is blessed to have them!
Indeed. My little granny mothered me until I was four.
That’s nice!
She was crazy ! Fun and funny!
I had one like that, too, a Scottish immigrant Granny with a cute sense of humor. She”s the one who referred to us kids as “wee fairhts”, which I realized (in my 40s!) was “little farts”. LOL!
Good times!
We have a saying here: Good girls go to heaven, bad girls just go anywhere they want.
Ha! Ha! We have one similar to that!
