There is a happy little sunflower outside my front door…
I thought I could sneak up on it and get a pretty decent photo. It became alert and shook its blossom…!
“Go away you nasty paparazzo!” Just my luck! It’s a prima donna sunflower!

I love how your shadow made its way into the photo
Sheldon
It guided the text! Of course, flowers don’t recoil at the presence of people (I don’t think…), but my shadow seemed ominous. Anyway, thanks! I regard your opinion on such matters significant, given the high quality of your collages!
Thank you Doug
Really
Prachtig exemplaar
Dank je!
That is kind of like the typical reaction of a sunflower. I find them to be beautiful but a little bit arrogant about it. Nevertheless their roasted seeds are high on my list of favorites.
LOL! An appropriate end to the wee rascals!
Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful….just about the only thing, aside from decreasing heat, that makes the end of summer worth while….the sunflower. ~~dru~~
I agree wholeheartedly!
beautiful little sunflower, Doug! I didn’t plant any this year, but one “Inca Jewel” sunflower came up on its own. The little birds will enjoy eating seeds out of the seed heads this fall.
Exactly, and that’s the source of this flower and all the hollyhocks around my apartment and others in this complex.
Very pretty. Every time we try to grow them the birds strip them of the seeds.
Yes, that’s the problem, with trying to grow them! There are farmers in my county who grow them commercially. A whole field of these flowers is something to see once they come into bloom! Also, they grow wild along roads in this state and others. You’d think the birds would have had their fill…
So when are you going to pick the sunflowers and roast them?
Jean
I won’t do anything with them. The birds planted the seeds by knocking them out of the feeder, so I’ll leave them for the birds to harvest.
Beleza na simplicidade…
Exatamente!
Andy and Dougy have been talking to it. It is a cheerful thing, prima donna notwithstanding.
You never know…!
Un bonheur pour les yeux 🙂
Oui, et les tournesols sont si joyeux!
This is true brilliance! The writer has stepped to centre stage with a project with an ingenue! You just wanted to prove you could make it without the stars of the show. They better not find out!
They know…oh, yes, THEY know!
So its the doghouse for you?
Ha! Ha! I suppose so!
