Andy and Dougy like to keep me close. Never know when you want a good “scritching”, eh?!
Andy has me in his sights…!
Dougy stopped by for a “scritching”.
I know this much: The kitty brothers will be attended to!
Andy gets tired waiting for me to stop favoring Dougy with my attention.
Yes, attending to my kitties is a full time job! They have specific needs, among which scratching ears, backs, and chins rank at the top.
You know that if they don’t keep an eye on you, you might disappear for a few hours. Then they’d have to worry about starving. 🙂
I try to spend as much time playing or petting them as possible for that reason.
When I was gone a little over two months with my illness and rehabilitation, they had good care, but very little play or grooming.
When I returned, they were very needy, never took their eyes off me. I recognize they anxiety has a basis, and work to minimize it any way I can.
That said, they don’t act stressed so much as aware when i get ready to leave for dialysis or my time at the museum. I’ve considered turning on the radio so they had background music and chatter while I’m gone. (I hope they like NPR…!)
Our NPR station shares its frequency with a classical music station. If yours works the same way, it would be a nice variety for them. 🙂
Yes, they have a morning concert of mostly classical during the time I’dd be gone, and afternoons till 3 pm, more classical music. At worse, they might have an hour of national news before I got home! Friday afternoon’s they have a call in requests program. Though it’s mostly classical, it’s usually war horses or familiar popular music from movies, that sort of thing. My kitties are too sophisticated for that Friday stuff!
mmm. You’re right, Fridays would be a problem. You probably need to teach them how to use an MP3 player. Or rearrange your schedule.
Or put a lovely Haendel opera on to play bands randomly. They don’t pay attention to the story anyway. LOL!
The kitties are such good companions!
When they aren’t chasing each other, they are best buds!
Beautiful photo of you Doug.
I think it is not the cats that adapt to you but it is you who have to adapt to them !! 🙂
In friendship
Michel
Thanks! It’s not easy to photograph me.
How true! They train you to serve them well!
Share the love. This is family time. Here a scratch, there a scratch…everywhere a scratch, scratch. To bad they couldn’t scratch you. That would be fair. MOL

Oh, yeah! Andy and Dougy approve of your message!
You and the boys sure take good care of one another !
We try, Mary in Ohio!
They can be very demanding, but so cute.
How true. Of course, we let them have their way because they entertain us!
Be quiet and happy all three together 🙂
Yes, we live very quietly here! (I got cats in the first place because dogs are noisy, something people living in apartments don’t need!)
Have you been able to teach them to give you massages, like Dezi gives Audra?
Dougy gives them to me in bed or while I’m sitting in that recliner. He’s pretty good, but sometimes forgets to keep his sharp pointy parts out of the massage!
Audra says they can be taught to keep their claws in, but Mr. M has such arthritic paws that I think it’s physically impossible for him to do that.
That makes sense. Dougy knows better, but he forgets sometimes….!
Audra also said it was a common thing to forget, but if you keep reminding them, they will eventually remember to use soft paws.
I try to anticipate Dougy’s “forgetful moments”, and put something extra between my skin and where he is likely to stop to massage me. Most times it works, but it also might be why he feels he can dig in, too.
That is a valid point… kitties are like kids, they need consistent feedback so they can figure out the boundaries.
…or how far they can push those limits! Ha!
Yep, it seems like munchkins & furbabies are always testing limits.
For sure!
🙂
