The unusually warm weather we’re having here means I can open the door and let in some fresh air. That presents an opportunity for my snoopy kitty, Dougy!
=(^!^)=
The moment of discovery…
Dougy knows there are wonderful scents and noises outside the door.
“Should I look out? Or not?”
Dougy approaches cautiously. A strange scent? Because it’s dark outside?
Oh well, he can still sniff around!
Ordinarily, this would be the scene at the door… This was back in September.
Andy never checked the scene at the door out, and Dougy soon lost interest. I guess no neighbor cats, bunnies, or other wildlife were out there tonight.
I hit water because of all the recent rains. He is partially buried, and I tried to pile as much dirt up on him as I could.
Hope he’s buried far enough from the house that you don’t get a stink….!
The nighttime world is full of interesting sounds and scents, not to mention critters wandering by! We had a large buck expire in the back yard a few nights ago. We called the Department of Fish and Wildlife that morning. No bullet wounds and the animal was far away from the road, and appeared to have wandered out of the woods. They told us sometimes bucks have internal injuries after fighting with each other. No one with a backhoe was available, so a large hole was dug by hand. I hit water not far down because of all the rain, so the buck has a large mound over him right now in that pit. Not a nighttime event I would want to have happen again! I wonder if any of the cats saw it happen out the window.
What an experience! It would be a huge hole, a backbreaker to dig. Hope you aren’t sore all over!
The place I rent has a storage space underneath it. My cat loves it when I unlock the door so she can gorge on all the unfamiliar smells. The owner used to make Italian salami there, and I think there are ghosts of mice past.
Oh wow! I can only imagine what a wonderland that would be for a kitty! Dougy is envious.
He needs a little stool to sit on and see outside.
Actually, there is a children’s chair by the back door for that very reason. There’s also a planter that serves the purpose of elevating kitties to a happy level.
Here’s a video showing those items at the back door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFEWd-qaV4U
MOL…guess the smells and noises weren’t that interesting. Perhaps an invisible ghosty was stalking him.
Shoko
This time of year, it could well be! I bet they’d have a different attitude if that neighborhood kitten I see once in a while came by….
Curiosity but not too much at once. 😀
Not typical of Dougy. I suppose since I was taking photos, he felt he should avoid being cute. LOL!
I just love that last shot of the little face peeking out the door! All too soon open doors and windows will not be an option.
That’s a fact, and I will miss having that fresh air!
I always find something to watch, even it doesn’t exist…Boo… 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3
Yes, my kitty boys “see” and hear ghosts, too. Creeps me out sometimes.
