Yesterday’s blog ended where Andy came in and Dougy is in shock! How dare that kitty!

Whew! After appearing suddenly in one big bound, Andy realizes his brother is on the recliner. So, athlete that he is, he maintains his forward motion and bounces over Dougy’s head, then off into the guest bedroom!
Trouble averted, Dougy kind of returns to his wand toy games. Sort of. 
He’s tired of games now and has other thoughts. Yep! Back to his ottoman!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. A perfect end to this busy morning!
I doubt you expected a surprise ending if you know Dougy!
I love a happy ending.
It turned out to be the start of a new one…. Dougy got to visit the veterinarian yesterday, which is covered in today’s post.

I think it turns out that the grumpy Dougy had a medical issue (conjunctivitis in his left eye – now in treatment) that caused him not to be his usual pleasant self. Andy just dealt with his grumpy brother as best he could.
Well everyone should sleep better now.
They have been better with each other, for sure!

How are the boys doing?
The boys are getting along just fine, even though Dougy hates his eye drops. That may end after one more treatment tonight. I’ll find out from his veterinarian today. Andy has been getting to be more cooperative when I give him his medicine. I think the holding him like a baby and petting him before and after the medicine helps. I talk softly with him, too, letting him know he’s a good boy and that he’s getting a kitty treat.
Of course he is a good fellow. I dare anyone to disagree

hahaha…a fair bit of exercise and a nap is called for. Sounds familiar. It sounds good to mom too.

Based on how quiet it’s been since I got back from the veterinarian’s (catwise, I mean – tomorrow’s blog goes into specifics about our Caturday… whew!) the conjunctivitis in Dougy’s left eye may explain his grumpy behavior this past week. He’s getting eye drops now, twice daily for five days.
The poor gaffer….you must have realized something was amiss if you took him to the vet. Good catch Doug.
Yes, that eye just looked wrong, and I’ve seen it like that before. I can tell you one thing about sweet Dougy: He hates to be medicated! I had to wrap him in a towel finally to get the drops in this morning.
The boys put on a regular soap opera for your entertainment and ours!!
I try to catch it, but it seems the most interesting dramas happen so fast, my smart phone barely captures them!
How about installing a motion-detector camera?
I’ve considered that. It’s a good idea! Plus, I could get sequences that happen during my absences. Of course, we might find the kitty boys are much naughtier than we realize….!
Same with my gang. However, it is much easier with dogs to “re-enact” the scene.
Dogs are more compliant, for sure! (Plus yours are better trained by far than my kitties!)
Well, it is just harder to herd cats…
Two are mostly manageable, but an old friend of mine has an animal refuge for deserted and needy animals. She has 40 cats! (My immediate thought was how many buckets of waste she must scoop from all those litter boxes each day…! Ugh!)
40 cats? 9 cats generate enough poop! Bless your friend’s heart for taking on all those animals.
No kidding! I haven’t seen her arrangement, but a mutual friend and I have tentative plans to go visit her after the weather turns in spring. (Western South Dakota is no place to mess with travel in Winter! For that matter, northern Western Nebraska is no treat that time of year, either.)
