As sad as yesterday’s news was, life must go on. Life with kitties reminds you of that because they still need to be fed, loved, brushed, cleaned up after, played with so they can ignore you. And there can be surprises that brighten the day.
My surprise was a visit by a church friend bearing gifts of raspberry jam (delicious!) and zucchini bread (¡muy deliciosa!) that he brought in a basket Dougy instantly claimed.

“Mine!” And Dougy is unanimous about that!
“What!? What!? What!?” There’s Andy, minding his own business.
“Hmmm!” Dougy has his druthers. “ANDY!”
Still there. It must be a plot to take the basket. Doubtlessly!
Dougy’s not enjoying this situation. Not at all.
“Grrr!” Dang that Andy is a pain! Dougy can’t believe his brother.
“What’s that, Dougy?” I ask. Yep, he complains because Andy’s looking at him!
We all know that is the most egregious sin one sibling can commit against another! Yep! Cain and Abel stuff for sure. (Never mind Andy really isn’t interested in the basket or that the basket will leave with my friend!)
OK, Dougy. I’ll see what I can do.
Nothing like good friends to bring you food, and kitties to claim the basket!
How true! I enjoyed the eats, and Dougy made sure the basket was cat approved in case my friend didn’t have that certified yet.
Normal : Andy has his property on the computer , so Dougy takes the beautiful basket ! 🙂

The basket left with my friend, and Dougy was very unhappy about that. Andy expressed no issues with the basket one way or other. Dougy would have taken it from him anyway!
