Dougy loves to be brushed, though he has a quirk: After I briefly brush his right side and tail, he rolls over on his right side so I can brush his left side forever or however long I can stand doing it. He never gets tired of the left side brushing!
=(^+^)=
It’s a good time for the both of us. Andy, on the other hand, doesn’t like to be brushed.
I should get my donkey over to learn from Andy! 😁
LOL! H’s patient and a good teacher, I’m sure!
Oh Dougy … You are so loved! ❤
It’s reciprocal!
What kind of a brush is that?
It’s one I got at their groomer’s shop. There’s molded on words and numbers on the brush that I couldn’t read, even under magnification. It has really fine metal teeth with angle on the end. They are embedded in a fabric and held on the handle with a cap and screws. I think it does a especially good job on thick Persian kitty fur as it doesn’t snag or pull on the hair, yet does a good job removing the dead hair. I was concerned at first that it might hurt when it came into contact with the skin, so tried it out on my arm. It doesn’t dig into the skin, and feels kind of nice, as attested to by Dougy! I bought one for each of my cats at the place I get them groomed. It’s the same brush they use in their work. I’ll see if I can get the information about the brush – I think they keep them in stock – and pass it on to you. The packaging will be much easier to read!
Yes, I would like information on the brush too. Our cats like brushing except Willow. Brushing Willow is a major undertaking.
I haven’t located anything yet. Ill need to stop by the groomer’s and get the specifics. The brand seems to be Four Paws, and the their are four paw prints on one side of the handle. It’s a start!
Here’s a link to Amazon, one place you can get this brush. It took me longer to locate the information than I anticipated, but once I stopped by the groomer’s shop and learned the name of the manufacturer, Amazon took me right to it!

Here’s a link to Amazon, Chris. Your kitties look like they all have thick fur, and this works really well in that environment. It detangles hair really well without tugging too hard on the hair.

see ya twoozday ! ♥♥♥
I thought it was strange that Dougy was this way, but now it seems even stranger that he isn’t the only one!
I don’t like to be brushed either, Andy, but Granny would love to do it 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3
I think Andy’s resistance is because he has a finer undercoat than Dougy. Dougy’s is really dense, and the brushing probably feels better to him than to his brother.
That is sweet and a great way to bond.
Yes, we concur!
I had a semi-feral cat named Fromme that would let me touch him but no one else. He would spend days away from home just sneaking in to eat but if he was in ear shot and I called out “brush” he’d be on me like glue and stay until I too could no longer stand it.
He was the only cat that I have had that ever liked to be brushed although I’ve had many that like to be “skritched”. ~~dru~~
Incredible! What an intriguing story! Cats definitely have their preferences, and Fromme had them to the extreme!
I used to have bribe my cat with treats in order to brush her, now nothing works haha!
LOL! Andy’s getting a bit that way with his medicine!

I’ve had similar problems before with this site deleting comments, and I have never been able to get it to undo the delete. At any rate, your comment was about the relationship between Dougy and me was symbiotic in thiss matter of brushing, and, yes, we both enjoy the moment to our mutual good!
