Mine have no preference. All types of paper are fine for roosting, even a bare scrap.

And how! I try to discourage them by leaving clutter on the table (my excuse….!), but that’s just an excuse for them to rearrange (and knock off) what’s there.
Have you considered putting a platform high on the walls that go around the room? They would love to have such a high perch I bet.
If I weren’t a renter, I’d certainly try that! As t is, they have lots of high places they can get on, if not above chest level on me.
I rent too, it has both good and bad points…
For sure. In my case, the expectation that I’d not be responsible for any snow shoveling was a big attraction, though that promise by the landlord isn’t met that well.
If you’ve got legitimate health issues, they need to be made aware and take care of the shoveling!
They are well aware of those issues and the potential consequences for them and me.

I gave up trying to bend those twigs, and they run the household!
Shadow is an Office Cat so he is disciplined, just mischievous. Alex is pretty good with training animals, even cats.
