This blog has grown faster than I can keep up with in one important regard: I’ve gotten way, way behind in thanking new people who follow it. When new follows were rare, I sent a personal thank you to each new follow. It was the polite thing to do.
If you haven’t received a personal thank you from me when you signed up, please accept my apologies for being negligent. I do appreciate each and every one of you! Please accept this less personal but heartfelt “thank you” now. Thanks! Heck, have a hug on me, too, because you are special!
This blog nearly doubled in followers in the past ten months, something that amazes me, frankly, since it is a simple blog about kitties, mostly, and an occasional aside about me. Now that this aside is over, here’s what you come for: Kitty cats! In this instance, Dougy and his new ear style.
=(^+^)=
As Dougy’s guardian, I told him he wasn’t going anywhere wearing his ear that way! Scandalous! So I folded it back into traditional style before he polluted Andy with his silly ear style. What’s next? A catnip leaf tattoo? You have to nip these things in the bud.
A catnip leaf tattoo! You had better keep that one quiet… 🙂
Hey! Before we know it, gangs of mean kitties with catnip tattoos on their folded over ears will terrorize dogs and small children in their neighborhoods!
You are too funny 🙂 He looks good either way.
Well, I did put it back in the kitty boy position. I just can’t let him wander too far to the other side and get that tattoo.
You are too funny 🙂 He looks good either way.
I don’t approve of tattoos for kitties, and I made sure his ear was folded back in a traditional kitty cat style…. Call me old fashioned!
Didn’t know your back story – I just came for the kitties – but so glad you are all together and the kitty boys don’t have any piercings yet (unless microchipping counts)!
Microchipping is a great idea, and the boys got theirs the same day they were neutered.
Been enjoying your blog. I’m glad you have Andy and Dougy to keep you and your readers entertained. By the way have you ever wondered what name they have for you? Just a thought.
Yes, I have! I hope it is a nice one.
Anyway, I hope I continue to produce posts that meet your interest, one big reason I enjoy comments that readers make.
dood….well ther WENT yur tat two plan…next time, wait til de artizt iz all reddy at yur place bee for ya style yur ear out that way ~~~ :)♥♥♥
No tattoos in this house! Time beats us up enough without deliberately disfiguring our bodies. Anyone else wo wants them can do what they want, though.
Dear weggieboy – I do like your humour – and your lovely kitties – Amitiés – france 🙂
Thanks! Andy and Dougy bring out he amusing side of life, and love sharing that with readers of these posts.
Maybe he wanted just to get some fresh air to his ear. Great idea that catnip leaf tattoo, thanks.
Kosmo,
a cat in faraway Finland.
Oh no! Don’t do it Kosmo! (Or don’t give me credit for getting it because I don’t approve of kitty cat tattoos.)
Just joking!
Well, you better be or you won’t get kitty treats for being a good kitty if I have anything to do with it! LOL!
Benji has the same style! I was going to post something on this fashion several months ago… I guess we have to now as fashion changes fast and we may be behind before we know it.
I don’t think a dogtor would get a tattoo for fear of appearing unprofessional, though I’m sure Benji looked cuter than heck with his ear in this style! It takes long ears to work.
You got a good point there. Although tattoos could be put underneath his dogtor’s coat and nobody would have to know. Benji has about four ear styles he likes. It helps cooling down too.
There are meaningful hidden tattoos used to identify animals in case they are lost or “petnapped”.Those are acceptable!
I agree, although we like the chip implants that we got for our furry ones.
Me, too. I like the fact that they can be changed as needed if one moves.
I don’t find it hard to believe you’ve become popular, Doug, just look who your side-kicks are!! Now who can resist those faces?
[glad to see you’re keeping their rebellious phases under control!!]
The blog started to gain after I got my first kitty, the late, great Louie, but Andy and Dougy definitely and quickly became the stars once they made their appearance in 2011. All of that charm had to be shared! (Thank you for your long support o the adventure of the kitty boys, too! You were one of the first regulars to dome around.)
It was and IS my pleasure!
Thanks! (Andy and Dougy are pleased to have you around, and would gladly rub on your leg and let you scratch them on the head if you were ever in the area!)
Congratulations for so many followers! I like to read about the cats. I think they are real cool cats
It still amazes me that the kitty boys have followers on every continent by Antarctica. I’m surprised they let me share the apartment with them. LOL!
I blame https://contrafactual.com/2016/02/13/bring-doug-home/ 😉
Yes, I had no part in bending that twig! (Or did I….) Gad! A year ago today I still had 31 days to go before they let me return home.
