Post 1328: cat trap…

Trapping Andy for his medicine involves knowledge of what catches his interest, where he sleeps, what his weaknesses are.

Andy hinted strongly he wanted kitty videos, or, at least, he didn’t react much with wand toys, my first guess. So I set up a fail proof Andy trap: sheets of random paper on the floor and the laptop with a bird video running.

=(^+^)=

Ah ha! The kitty approaches!

Kitty “horns” up (last photo). We are very interested…and unaware of our surroundings!IMG_20170309_234343 (1)

Rats! It’s the wrong kitty! Dougy makes an appearance.

But  Andy showed up, too. Only he is at a safe distance away from the hand waiting to snatch him up and dose him with medicine!

Clever kitty. I’ll catch you yet!

    • So far I’ve managed to get away with dental kitty treats. They are 5-1/2 years old and have clean teeth and healthy gums, so the treats apparently work. That said, because hey are older now, I do have their veterinarian examine their mouths when I take them in for checkups or shots.

    • Thanks, Maria! They are looking especially nice now that their hair’s grown out. They have an appointment t the groomer’s next week. Wile they will look nice afterwards, they still look best with long hair.

  1. and the chase begins….medicine time. hehe. We have a wee mouse that is mechanical. I press a button on the bottom of the mouse and it moves all over and then quits. If, a kitty hits it, the mouse will start again. It must be sensitive cause if I walk across the floor, the mouse starts up again. Kali hardly gets any exercise because of her sore joints but with this mouse, she gets up and follows it all over. She doesn’t hit it though and waits for me to hit it.

    This is cute.

    • Sounds like a good toy. I got the kitty boys a remote control mouse when they were kittens, but it was a bust as soon as they knocked it over, which was immediately.

    • Andy is attracted more to paper on the floor, oddly. Magazines work, too, or simply opening up the front door and waiting. He does get into boxes, but that’s more Dougy’s favorite thing.
