You think being a kitty must be great stuff! Food on demand. A warm place to sleep. Toys. Videos for kitties. Yeah, life of Riley!
Then there’s the other side: you have to wait for the human to figure out what you want. Or worse. The human is deliberately ignoring you because you want something he thinks you shouldn’t have!
=(^+^)=
“Where’s Andy!?” The kitty boys had their morning wet food. Andy got his medicine and treats. Now Dougy wants his brother to play with him. (I think Andy decided to take a nap….)
Dougy gave up on Andy. Now it’s time to check out what the human has on his plate.
Rats! Nothing! Poor Dougy! This morning isn’t working out the way he hoped. Maybe it’s time to give in and take a nap. So he does. (later, the human and Dougy will have lots of kitty fun with the wand toy!)
Poor Dougy, with his brother not wanting to play! Our cats get really miffed when one wants to play and the rest are sleeping or feel like zoning out.
Yep, exactly that way here, too! In those instances, I’m expected to stop everything and “amuse the kitty”, a game that both like to play.
I never thought of the girls trying to communicate with me….this is true, it must be frustrating at times for them. Kali just keeps yelling at me. Guess she figures I should just know. haha

Dougy is vocal; Andy tend to be a body language kitty, though he sometimes vocalizes
Poor Dougy, no Andy to play with and no people food to snack on-bad day.
They never get people food, for their health and safety, but there is kitty food available all day and Andy eventually comes out to play. Dougy is very social. Andy is shy.
I am kind of interested in knowing what was on “The Human’s” plate. I always am looking for something good to try.
I had a very light breakfast of toast with butter and honey, a tropical fruit cup, and water. It was a dialysis day, and I was pretty sure I’d bloated out more than usual…! And, sure enough, I had! I’d been a particularly “bad boy” over a long weekend. Today, it was scrambled eggs with portabella mushroom, green pepper, and cheddar cheese, toast with butter and honey (I’ve hit a rut there!), and water. I’m trying to be better about not eating or dinking things that make me bloat between dialysis treatments.
Thank you for sharing. I will most definitely have the egg, mushroom, pepper and cheese today as an omelette. 🙂
I’d ordinarily eat it that way myself! (I’d add onion as well, but couldn’t find it in the refrigerator….)
Oh yes! Onion! I love onions and I try my best to include at least one whole onion in my diet every day. I usually steam it along with either potato or broccoli. Thanks for reminding me of the onion. 🙂
Mmmm! Now I have an idea what to do with that broccoli in the refrigerator other than the standard stuff!
As a human I sometimes envy the cats abilities to lay still doing nothing.
LOL! Me, too! I think people can learn about relaxation by watching cats.
I didn’t realise you had the life of Riley in the USA as well as us Brits over here, I presume it’s Irish originally?
I suspect so! There was a television show in the USA in he 1950s with William Bendix by that name. There are complete episodes on YouTube, and here’s one:

It also was a radio show earlier.
Aaw! That’s so cute😊 and meaningful at the same time!
What I find interesting is it is rude (in cat society) to stare at the other cat, so even when Dougy wanted to look me in the eyes in the last three photos, he tried not to look me in the eyes! He was just being polite!
Yup! Animals are definitely more sensitive than humans!
What are you talking about man? I’m a teenager. Not even married! There must have been some mistake in your judgement
Sorry to goddamn hell, sister! I mistook you for someone else, something people do. Judgement isn’t involved in it, just mistaken memory. I follow a huge number of blogs, and I thought the cute little girl was in yours. I don’t need the drama, so will unfollow you as soon as I complete this comment. You may unfollow me as well. In fact I’d prefer you do.
Taking photos of dogs is difficult for that seem reason. That lens feels like a big eye to them. That’s why you see a lot of dogs yawn after a while which is a pacifier yawn.
I never thought about that, but it makes sense, from a dog’s point of view!
Something we learned when we trained for the therapy dog exam.
I appreciate knowing that about dogs!
