I oftentimes eat breakfast in the living room while watching the early news. Bad boy! I put the plate on the floor, which attracts Andy…
…and Andy licks my plate clean, especially if he finds milk or butter on it. Bad kitty!

I there a particular reason to this name ?
Yes, my family is largely Scottish in its background. I wanted to honor that heritage by naming Andy after the patron saint o Scotland. Also, as noted, Dougy’s name (Douglas) is very Scottish, too. As for “James”, it is a family name that I like, and the name of the Scottish king who became the English king who had the King James version of the Bible made. Besides that, there was and English television program called “James the Cat” that had a charming signature tune and a delightful playful cat named James. Here ‘s an example:

LOL! Andy and Dougy both do that with magazines, so I have to be careful not to leave partially read magazines on the floor next to a chair, for example.

I have the same problem on Blogger blogs. This time, I had the screen enlarged to 150% for another activity where the text was in a tiny font. Once I realized that, I changed it to 100%, saw the correct place to sign up to your blog, or I think I did. (Hate those Captchas! The one that came up this time, though, was very readable, so I didn’t get eight in a row like I did for the last Blogger blog I subscribed to! Or think I subscribed to – it’s never clear until I see the blog updates in my email.)

I’ve done these that way before, at least. I’ve never done it with a Blogger blog before.
Andy is just pre-washing, trying to help out. The dogs do it all the time. If I forget, Lucy just sticks her head in the dishwasher to do her “chore.” Can you trim Dougy’s nails? I used to have success with that with my cats.
Dougy and Andy have heavily pigmented nails, and I’ve not been brave enough to try trimming them.
Just clip the tips that are sharp. That ought to do it.
Andy probably would be easy to do, but Dougy would struggle. I’ll give it some thought.
Oh kitty, no tolerance for destruction of furniture! He’s telling you he needs a tall scritching post!
He has several available to him. He actually uses them…sometimes! I think he is a candidate for “My Cat from Hell” sometimes.
