One of the benefits of living with minor international kitty celebrities is other international kitty celebrities send them postcards from abroad. What fun!
=(^+^)=
Many of you know the Canadian Cats and their human, Jean. Or I hope you do! Shoko and Kali are two of my top favorite Internet kitties, and Jean is one really sweet and thoughtful person.
But this is about postcards from abroad…from celebrity cats, so here’s what Shoko and Kali (and Jean!) sent us, a souvenir of their recent visit to one of my favorite cities, Paris.
How fun is that!? (See the two kitties in the lower right hand corner?) Thanks, kitties and Jean. I really enjoyed the postcard!

Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW! They are so thoughtful❤Pawkisses for a Happy Day☺❤
That they are!
Nice to meet Shoko and Kali! They are beautiful kitties!
I agree!
Aww, how lovely!
I love getting postcards, and this one was really sweet!
The roofs of Paris are famous and they are pardise for cats 🙂
In friendship
Michel
I remember well the kitty cats of Paris, and one of my favorite kittens was playing in a display of produce in front of a Marais grocery. I tried photographing it, with no success. Just as I was walking away, the shop proprietoress come out, picked up the kitten, and proudly stood there. She indicated she would hold the kitten so I could photograph it. By that time, I didn’t think I wanted a photo of a kitten being held, but i took the photo anyway. when I got the prints back from Photo Toegel in Kaiserslautern, that photo turned out to be one of the better ones I took during my visit with friends living in Paris. Why? Because the proprietoress beamed with pride of love of her sweet (and very pretty) kitten! Unfortunately, Michel, I can’t find either the negative or a copy of the photo, but the memory, perhaps, is good enough. The proprietoress had a beautiful smile and was very friendly. So much for Parisians being stuck up and rude! I met some very pleasant people there, and she was probably the nicest of them all!
i didn’t know I was going to put awake a good memory you keep from Paris, Doug . I am glad for that . Thanks also for the text in good French!
Very nice postcard, that was so thoughtful.
I thought so, too! I should send one their way. I think I saved her address. (I think I had it, at any rate….!)
Reblogged this on The Canadian Cats and commented:
We haven’t had much to say lately cause of the European bug mom and dad picked up on their travels so we are reblogging a wonder blog that mentions us and mom. Mom and dad are slowly getting better. They are really boring right now so here’s to some activity in the near future.
You finally got it! We are tickled pink….so to speak. We can’t forget our kitty friends when we leave Canada.
Jean…help from Shoko and Kali
I got it the same day I started having problems with my laptop and downloading photos from my smart phone, both of which had OS updates that I downloaded. I hate updates!
Great postcard! I love Paris, but don’t have the courage to go there, as long as those radicals continue to wreck havoc in that city. I don’t know why it seems like Paris is a main place for them to lash out. A friend, who needs to go to France periodically for work, used to fly into Paris, then take the train to Lyon (where her business meetings are(. NOW, she flies into London, the takes a direct flight to Lyon. Thus far, there haven’t been any attacks in Lyon…. I must quick knock on wood!
That seems prudent to me, but London has had its episodes as well. That said, unless you wanted to visit Paris for some reason other than to take a taxi from the airport to the appropriate train station to get to Lyon, the London-Lyon transfer makes more sense to me.
She usually goes a day or two early, then stays in Paris to see the museums, shop, etc. before heading to Lyon. And yes, she’s concerned about London, so is now looking into Barcelona to Lyon as a potential option.
Barcelona has had it’s ETA activity in past…. It is a concern, and one I hope she can resolve to her satisfaction. The likelihood of becoming a victim of terrorism is slight, but it you are a victim, it’s 100%, eh?
While she focuses on finding safe landing zones, my major worry is the potential for diseases to be transmitted by being in planes. Allow me to explain. When Obama was importing hundreds of thousands of unvetted aliens from areas like Syria, where diseases, which have been eliminated here still run rampant (leprosy, tuberculosis, even the plague, are examples). To me, when Trump bans certain nations, it is not a Muslim ban, it is a ban on countries that don’t verify who they are exporting and/or what illness they might be carriers for. If you want more data on this, check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmorfXb5uVI or one of the dozens of other documentaries on this topic.
This has become too political for a kitty blog.
While I respect your right to express your concerns, the facts of refugee resettlement are exaggerated:
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/01/30/key-facts-about-refugees-to-the-u-s/
The vetting process is complex and no refugee gets to come in without going through this process:
https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2015/11/20/infographic-screening-process-refugee-entry-united-states
I agree it is too political for a kitty blog, but also add that some refugees come in with no vetting & those are the ones that scare me.
OK. I believe we can end this for now.
How nice! We want your address and send a postcard! Benji and Ms. Zulu.
I’ll gmail you! (I have one I will send you if you give me you address, too. It’s a hoot!)
Very nice; just sent you our address. Looking forward to it!
Great! I’ll post it right away!
[It’s started on its way to you shortly after I wrote the comment above. I think you will enjoy the humor of the card and your doggy buddies will woof it up, too!]
We got your card! See also today’s post on Life of Benji.
I’m headed there now….!
