Dougy wants to know: “Where is that little rascal?!”
“Meow! Meow! Meow!” Andy tells Dougy a thing or two, including the fact that he’s “hiding” by the open front door.
Dougy comes running! Andy slips by him and runs into the dark guest bedroom. The chase is on!
Hide, seek and chase, that’s a fabulous game…can I join? Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂 <3
They’d love having more playmates, I’m sure!
Catch a mouse Dougy. Not Andy.
No mice available here…! (Or maybe they’ve all been caught.!)
No mice??? My house has a lot and my shorthair ignore them. 🙁 🙁
People who live in more rural areas in this state are more likely to have mice in their homes, but they’ve never been a problem in my home. On the other hand, ants and spiders are! As for your kitty, if you have lots of mice, it’s probably a problem of boredom: “Oh, I’ve killed lots already, and I need something more exciting for a change. like a cobra!” (I hope not…!)
A few years ago, Australian had a grasshopper outbreak, I think it was, that was so extreme that cats and chickens got bored hunting them because they ate their fill and just had no more interest in them. Maybe it was mice. I don’t recall for sure.
Well… he didn’t even see the mouse…. But he does like grasshoppers, though. Also, he’s a very gentle cat. So that means if he sees a mouse, he won’t do anything.
My kitties prefer to bat insects around, but they don’t eat them as a rule.
Same as you.
Evidently they’ve been calm too long. ~~dru~~
Hey, all those long naps rejuvenate the kitties, so, you bet!
I love the games the cats come up with. Yes, we have to be careful here not to to get run over by our cats in the middle of chase. 🙂
Andy himself had a crash into a chair the other day, with little more than his pride wounded. Poor kitty!
Cats have always known their rights (Feline Rights Act) 🙂
Oh yeah! And don’t think they don’t know them, eh?
Andy, you are not supposed to tell Dougy where you are hiding 🙂 Silly kitty.
Andy says he actually wanted Dougy to find him. I believe him because the multi-colored fabric strip that he uses along with the yowling to signal the kitty boys’ chase game was on the floor in the kitchen where Andy was. I’d call that direct evidence he meant to bring Dougy running! (Otherwise, it would have been silly, I agree!)
I love a good chase! I just run and run and run! Benji
The kitty boys love to run, too, though they always follow it with a good nap!
Me too, me too 😀 ! Benji
The best part of the chase, they say: catching a nap!
You are a wise man. Benji.
Thanks! Just following the leaders!
WOL 😀
Just reporting it as I see and hear it!
One can’t push these games….sometimes a nap is called for in mid-game. We can pick up where we left off and be stopped for supper…then chase again.
Shoko
That’s a fact! I suspect I’ll be talked into putting out kitty treats soon enough. The nap’s still on in the meantime.
haha…Treats are a great reason to wake up.
They were in my way this morning, and that was in an effort to divert their attention long enough for me to wash their kitty food plates, all of which were dirty…shame on me!
Oh I would love to play chase with you… but after my lunch I think to spend this sunday on the couch while napping is a good game too :O)
Andy and Dougy would enjoy it, too, but you’d have to be careful not to get too rambunctious or they might swipe you on the nose with their claws! They generally are very good around woofies, though, a fact I’;m proud of.
I’m familiar with cats too… they are there and we are neighbors ;o))) I grew up with cats, the breeder has 3 fabulous sphynx cats… if we had a big wallet I’m sure one or all three would live with me now ;o)
The more the merrier!
