Dougy’s blocking the bathroom door and Andy’s on the table – bad kitty! The kitties wonder what’s up.
The kitty boys take turns coming in to check up on what I’m doing, then leave to their guard positions.
“Why, I’m doing lots of washing and cleaning in preparation for our friend Marianne’s visit from The Netherlands by way of Maine, kitty boys. She’ll arrive in Nebraska on Wednesday. I think you’ll like her!” I explain.
“Fine!” Andy tells me in Cattinese, “But don’t forget it is ‘feed the kitties wet food time’. NOW!”
Yes, kitty. I’ll fix your meal soon. First, I’ll start the next to last load in the dryer, and the last load in the washer. Your meal’s almost waiting for you!

And how~! Marianne made it her safely and the kitty boys greeted her, of course, not knowing they were going to be shut out of the guest bedroom so she could get a good rest after a very long travel day.
Poor kitties. I’m glad she arrived safely, but you know how cats love their routines. 🙂
And how! Marianne just came out of the bedroom and Dougy was on his recliner. She walked toward him and he let out a sad little “meow”. Marianne then pet him. Earlier, when we were talking, she was standing by his ottoman. Dougy scratched it to let her know it is “MINE!”
Cats have a way of claiming furniture, don’t they?

Yes, and I’m trying not to say the obvious! This blog is rated “G”, so I even have to watch my language, let alone allusions to “adult situations”! LOL! Regardless, we are just friends.

Thank you! The best part is I have to do a better than usual cleaning job, so the apartment benefits as well as I for clearing out and cleaning up a lot of messes. I’m not a religious housekeeper! The irony, of course, is we won’t spend a lot of time here.

Not at all! we’ll visit museums, historic sites, paleontological sites, and other attractions in this area. We’re both old enough to keep busy with wholesome, family activities.
This is a great event for tomorrrow : a visitor from….Netherland !

The name Marianne is also the name of the woman figuring the French Republic ! 🙂

You are welcome! I knew about Marianne as a French icon since I have a couple friends in France besides you. Of course, over the years, one picks up information about other cultures and countries that way. I believe I first became aware of it when Catherine Deneuve was used as a model for her image. I am a fan of hers since I saw “Umbrellas of Cherbourg” in 1968 in a foreign film series I subscribed to as a college student. She still is very beautiful!

That would be nice if she did, but she may have given them to Andre and Charles, our mutual friend Deborah’s kitty boys! Tomorrow’s the day she’s supposed to arrive, and I still haven’t heard when to pick her up….
