I know, I know! I’m hesitant to declare it is so, yet it seems it just may be! Black Beauty, my VW Golf Sportwagen is about to be released to me after five weeks in the shop to repair damage from an accident that happened at the end of a trip my Dutch friend Marianne and I took to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Whew! That sentence was almost as long as my wait for the return of Black Beauty!
Black Beauty in happier times: Will BB be back in that parking spot by tomorrow afternoon? It looks possible. It’s estimated the final work will be completed by this afternoon. Can’t wait! Living without a car in this area is a difficult thing to adjust to and five weeks without a car is a personal hell.
Reblogged this on Success Inspirers World and commented:
I like this.
I hope you can get Black Beauty back soon, Doug!
Me, too. I expect them to have it ready for me Wednesday this week, based on the last information they gave me. They better hope it is. Next step, a heart-to-heart brawl with their General Manager, who is son or grandson to the founder of the company.
Glad to hear that! Enjoy the Black Beauty!
Now it’s Monday before it’ll be ready…
Frustrating, but what’s a few more days, right?
Since I commented, I called the dealer and found out they’d ordered the wrong part. Now, instead of Monday, it will be Wednesday!!! I don’t think they look forward to seeing me Wednesday, and well they should not.
I could imagine! I am sure you’ll give them a piece of your mind – I would!
They’ve had several preliminary rants…
I think those should build up to something serious…
I think I’ll probably be so happy to have my car back today that I’ll pass on ripping heads off and drinking the blood.
I don’t know about drinking blood (not a kosher beverage!), but ripping heads that have no brains in them should be relatively harmless.
So did you get your car back today?
It’s frowned on for Presbyterians, too! Yes, my car’s back home,
Congratulations! Enjoy the Black Beauty!
That I am! It is such a fun car, and very handy, too, being a station wagon.
Have fun and a great weekend!
Thanks! I have grocery shopping out of the way already this morning and will wash clothes layter. That pretty much frees me up for the weekend, which begins after dialysis on Saturday (circa 10:30-11:00 AM) and ends Tuesday morning at 6:00 AM. Woo hoo!
You are so industrious and so organized! With dialysis out of the way, I hope the rest of our weekend is very pleasant.
One has to arrange those four days in productive ways because dialysis pretty much takes the whole day. After dialysis, I often feel like a nap. If not, I’m still exhausted to the point nothing too vigorous happens.
I am sure that the Adorables do all kinds of vigorous stuff, though!
I must have missed about the car when I took a blog break when Phoebe was sick. I am glad you are getting your car back, that was a long time to be without.
Yeah, now I learned it will not be tomorrow but Monday before I can get it….
I know what you mean but this must be worse for you cause of your dialysis schedule. If I have a seizure I’m supposed to let the government know so they can take away my driver’s license for 6 months. I have seizures in my sleep when I do have them, so I don’t figure I’m driving while I sleep so don’t tell them. Up north here, it is pretty hard to get anywhere without a vehicle. The bus schedule is once every 2 hours so forget it.
Here’s hoping BB is sitting in the driveway by next post.
Jean
Thanks, Jean! I hope so, too! There is bus service here. You call them, they pick you up at your home (or wherever you are at the time), pay a one way $1.00 fare. That’s the good news. The bad news is they don’t operate at 20 till six, when I typically leave to be on time for dialysis!
This must be like Handy Dart….the short bus. I could get that too. I did when mom was here. Up here they tend to be very busy and some peeps must use a taxi…we have taxis built for wheelchairs now
They do give priority to people going to doctor’s appointments, that sort of thing, but, like there, they are pretty busy, especially at certain times of day.
Five weeks seems a bit long for body repair! I love all the photos of the boys, so handsome,, 😺😸😻😽
It goes without embellishment that I feel five weeks is needlessly long, too.
Be patient ! but it is difficult times – amitiés – france 🙂
I think I’ll be driving it tomorrow if the dealer’s estimate of how much more had to be done proves to be true.
Ugh, not having the freedom a car gives is the worst! You’re amazing for lasting five weeks!
Not without a few temper tantrums….!
Only a few? You did well!
Now it’s Monday before it’s ready. I’m just tired as hell at this point.
I bet!
It’s a lot like a kidnapping incident, right down to the extortion for copious amounts of money and negotiations for safe return….
Lol I hadn’t thought of it that way, but true:)
Not to forget the psychological terrorism…!
Ak! Can’t imagine living without a car in your state. Hope you get your car back soon.
It’s a genuine pain in the butt, I guarantee!
I hope the black beauty finds back to you soon… in the movie it comes always back… even when it needs years ;O)
Ouch! I’d hike up to Rapid City and kidnap it first! It’s supposed to be ready tomorrow. We’ll see!
congrats
It’s looking possible, yet there have been many setbacks throughout the five weeks that I won’t believe I have BB back until I’m sitting behind the steering wheel!
oh no!! Looking forward to updates
When I finally see BB in the metal, I will believe the nightmare is over!
I hope your your two furry little black beauties get you car back very soon.
I’m hopeful.
