We had a few snow flakes yesterday. I’m not quite ready to give up my cargo shorts, but I can see the writing on the wall! That said, the kitty boys find snow fascinating. Today’s blog is about some of their snow experiences.
You may have seen some of these videos before if you’ve followed this blog long enough, but I hope you enjoy them just the same!
Hope you enjoyed the show!
We got our first flakes on Halloween. They delivered my new moss a few days later. When they said fall delivery, I did not expect November. For some reason, fall and plants means October to me.
I’d expect them earlier, too! I guess it all depends on where you ordered them from and how they perceive your zone to be for planting. I hope you can save your moss over winter!
Theoretically, you can put it down any time. But you’re supposed to press it into the ground with bare feet. (I think they’re in Tennessee)
As someone who is notorious for going outside barefoot when there’s snow on the ground, I guess I could do it for you! LOL! (I don’t stay out for long, mind you, but how long would I have to stay out to press your moss into the ground with those bare tootsies??!)
I’m not very good with math. It’s 25 square feet. Thanks for the offer!
Anything to get out of the house for a bit! LOL!
Always good to see the boys, Doug!
I try to keep them at the center of the blog since I’m generally pretty uninteresting….!
Sure! Those teeth and nails could get hazardous!
That they are!
So soon for snow!! Where do you live? Lovely videos <3
Western Nebraska, USA . Glad you enjoyed the videos!
They are like any siblings: playing together when they aren’t wrestling to establish which kitty is top cat for the moment!
Ahah, wrestling kitties is a funny image 🙂
They get very involved in it, and sometimes I break them up when one of them gets a little too “enthusiastic”!
that time
of the year
so soon? 🙂
There hasn’t been any more since that one day, though the temperatures has been in the range where snow could happen….!
Snow!!! Very fun videos, I would like to make more!
Me, too. I need to check into alternative editing apps or whatever I need to make them again. I enjoy doing it, and it relates to my experience as a US Army motion picture photographer.
I noticed that Youtube took their free video editing system out, so you’ll need to find your own. I recommend VSDC Free Video Editor, that’s what I used.
I didn’t use the YouTube editor except to add music. Once I found a source of free music, I stuck with that. I’ll check out the VSDC editor, though, since I miss having the Microsoft video editor on my computer!
Good to see these videos. Snowflakes on the whiskers must be a problem.
Glad you enjoyed them! I suspect they sense the snowflakes, don’t you? If nothing else, they look really cute with snowflakes on them!
Cute videos. I am not a fan of the summer, but it is too soon for snow 🙂
I agree on the snow business. The earlier the snow, the longer the winter and the deeper the snow, it seems.
You got snow before us..this is really different. I hope it leaves for higher altitudes.
Jean
Jean, the best part was it didn’t last. When I got out of dialysis, the streets were wet, but no snow accumulated. That’s the way to have it! I live at circa 1200 meters above sea level. The higher elevations and latitudes around here – Colorado, South and North Dakota, typically get the snow first and more often, though there is an area just north of here (the Pine Ridge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_Ridge_(region) ) that seems to get the snow first and worst before we do in the Central Panhandle, less than 100 km south of there.
looks like the kitty boys find it fascinating
Dougy is the more adventurous about it!
Already snow ! We had just heavy mist over the coast but sunshine some kilometres over in the country and 20° centigrades !
Do have a nice week-end
It’s supposed to get colder next week, and there is a prediction of a colder than usual winter here. I hope not!.
My cats do find snow fascinating until they are walking in it! Perhaps I should chip some ice off the inside wall of the freezer and toss it about a bit.
Dougy tolerates snow under foot, but Andy stops at the door. I don’t know if the snow is a deterrent or his normal scaredy cat nature stops him.
Hope snow is not coming so soon here.
No snow accumulation here yesterday, but next week two days are predicted for snow fall. I hope it’s light snow!
oh that’s a reminder from santa to finish your wishlist ;o) can you imagine that this falkes are enough to cause a chaos here? 3 flakes and we have a traffic jam in the road ditches LOL
Ha! Ha! Here, we wear cargo shorts till the snow reaches the bottom pockets! LOL! Of course, we wear winter jackets on top, maybe a neck scarf. As for driving, we are out in it, pretending cars and trucks with all year tires somehow are exempt from the laws of nature and will stop just as fast as on dry streets. The local paper, after the first good snowstorm of the year, always has lots of accidents to report and blame on snowy roads. (Apparently the idiots driving the vehicles were actually victims of mean snowflakes ganging up on them, not poor judgement or lousy driving skills!)
