Andy and Dougy have different favorite things to do. Andy’s my video kitty, so I broke out the kitty videos for Andy while Dougy was snoozing off some wand toy play he and I had earlier.
Andy showed intense interest until..
…a very ruffled and mussed up sleepy boy joined the party! That was enough to ruin video time for Andy, so he ran off.
I liked video time until I realized that Mom was just playing the same disc over and over again rme. Then I lost interest. Tee hee hee. That squirrelygig looks like the ones that come to my back door. Did you know they like eating mini pumpkins? It’s true.
Yes, those mini-pumpkins are a real treat to these little tree rats!
I used to feed them field corn on the cob. Some of the cobs were eight or nine inches (20-23cm) long, but your’d see squirrels grab them by the end.
It was amazing to see a squirrel scampering along a power line with a cob nearly as big as the squirrel sticking out in front of it! LOL!
You have to admire their athleticism and spunk!
As for the videos, I don’t have a DVD. I pull up the ones on YouTube by typing videos for cats. There are lots of them and Andy and Dougy don’t get bored with most of them. The fish videos seem to be their least favorite. The mouse and squirrel videos get their biggest attention.
Do they ever watch videos together?
Yes, though Dougy doesn’t usually stay for long.
A bit of attention deficit there?
I think he lost interest once he looked behind the laptop screen and didn’t find what he was looking for!
To each his own 🙂
For sure!
Poor Andy! Nothing worse than having his viewing time crashed by Dougy. 🙂
That’s a fact!
My cat, Bubba, was a feral kitten when I got him and he lived in a barn with large animals. He loves television especially movies that feature horses and cows… With realistic audio being a must have. One of his favorite films is “Dances With Wolves” along with episodes of “The Waltons” and I can’t leave out “Milo and Otis!”👍🐎🐫🐮👍
“Good night, Bubba!” LOL! As documented earlier, Andy will watch pretty much anything. I bet he’d like “Dances With Wolves”, which was shot just north of here in the Black Hills. “Milo and Otis” definitely would be on his to watch list (and mine since I think pugs are the most fun dogs around and I have a long time love of orange tabbies, one of which I had.

I think it’s amazing that some cats (and dogs) love watching films. I wonder what goes on in their mind when doing so. Do they realize the difference between a film and reality?
I know they sometimes try to figure out where the critter on the screen went by walking behind it! Andy likes watching videos more than Dougy, and will sit on the recliner arm (across from where I type on my laptop) till I stop what I’;m working on and bring up a video for cats for him to watch!
Oh ! Cranky cranky ! I hope he cheered up the more he woke up.
Once he gets a little “scritching”, some chicken pate kitty food in his tummy, and some wand toy play, he becomes Mr. Personality! LOL!
Much easier to live with !
LOL!
