Wynken is attracted to the smell of black coffee, and we have to watch the coffee cups here.
Our cats often want to know what we have, then recoil once they smell it. 🙂
Andy and Dougy are the same with coffee. There are other drinks and foods that interest them for a sniff, but they don’t eat human food. Of course, I don’t want them to, either.
Aren’t they meant to hate citrus fruit. 🤔
Of course, but you know how cats want to prove that fact each and any time they see you have something to eat but haven’t made it available to them, too. I get protests if I don’t share (which I never do if it’s human food or foods cats shouldn’t eat), so let the kitty boys have a sniff to let them know I’m not sharing for a reason. Citrus gets a reaction similar to what we might have getting a whiff of ammonia, if not quite so extreme.

No, he knows what he likes (chicken!) and doesn’t (coffee, citrus fruit, vegetables of all sorts, kitty food in gravy – likes the gravy, though).
Trust us, Andy, you don’t want grapefruit.
He eventually turned up his nose at it when he realized it was citrus!
My cat literally runs out of the house when I cut a grapefruit open. I think she hates the smell of sour things, since she has a similar reaction to vinegar and lemons. Stay warm, kittyboys!
Same for my kitty boys. I think the odor is too strong for their sensitive “sniffers”!

Andy reacts, then checks things out – usually to learn kitties don’t like grapefruit, lemon, coffee…etc.!
grape fruits? really? … there is the word grape inside… and we know that life offers mostly sour grapes ;O)))
Especially for cats – grapes would kill them, really!
