Thanks to scheduling issues, the kitty boys haven’t been trimmed since…I can’t remember. (September 2017? July 2017?) For the many new people following Andy and Dougy’s exploits, I think you might be amused to see what they look like trimmed up. It will be July before they can get in again, and they will be very hairy by then!
Quite a bit different, eh?! The last video shows Andy after the first haircut the kitty boys got. The groomer recommended a teddy bear cut the next time I took them in, and that’s been the standard since.
We prefer “furry” to “hairy”. Humans and gorillas are hairy. Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty
It cleans up the same!
That is a nice haircut for them. I am glad they are good boys for the groomers! 🙂
Me, too! They could get banned from the groomers if they weren’t good boys.
‘The Visitor’ is one of my fav videos EVER! Mom & I luv how Andy & Dougy play peek-a-boo with Taco! Those are fancy Teddy Bear haircuts that the kitties got, Mr. Doug. I’ve never had one of those. I haven’t been to a groomer for 6 years. Mom just brushes me.
And you look spectacular! I personally am beginning to feel the brushing business is preferable since the kitty boys look so good right now. “The Visitor” is probably my favorite video of the kitty boys. Taco the tuxedo cat was a neighborhood feral cat that one of my neighbors provided a shelter, food, water, and, at one point toward the end of his life, medical care when he was very sick. I looked forward to his visit because he was such a pretty kitty. He’s in kitty heaven now, though. Amazingly enough, he lived at least 15 years, maybe more. He was a neighborhood resident when I first moved here in November 2004. I’m not sure when the last time I saw his was.
They look so much smaller after grooming. Andy looked really funny on the last video, he looked like having long boots.
Yes, they aren’t really that big after grooming. Dougy is the larger of the two at about 5,3 kilos, and Andy is a bit lighter. I laughed when he came home from the groomers that time (the first time) because he looked like he had dancer’s leg warmers on! LOL!
In the two situations ,trimmed or not they are beautiful . But the long hair define them the best?

Thanks! I think so,m too, and I think they may just be prettier with the longer hair.
Yep, I used to groom Persians like that, too, when their folks wanted them shaved. It was always the Persians who bit me, too.
Oh no! Hate to hear that! Their groomer leaves their tails untrimmed and only lightly trims their facial poofs. Another thing they’ve mentioned is Andy sometimes loses patience with the process. They stop working on his trim at that point, or, rather, once they’ve finished it enough to have an even trim. Dougy is more cooperative.
I wonder how they reacted when their fur was being trimmed? Thats the video you want to put up. They seem happy to be back at any rate!
I have word of mouth on their behavior. I also know that if they were brats or aggressive toward the groomers, they would be banned from the shop. So far…! It would be interesting watching the process to see how the two actually behave!
I think so & they might feel more comforted if you were there?
I always am here when other people come in. I can only think of one non-family person getting away with picking up one of the kitty boys. He worked for the retirement village in their maintenance department. He was over here on a job, Andy walked by him, and he picked him up! That was surprising enough, but Andy didn’t fuss when it happened. The maintenance guy did mention he had a Siamese cat at home.
do you ever travel with them? I guess driving would be the most common form of travelling they experience. No planes I assume or boats?
The only places they’ve traveled to are the groomers (two blocks one way) and their veterinarian’s (six blocks one way). I think Andy would travel well enough for longer trips, but Dougy hates being in the carrier even for the short distances he’s traveled.
ahh….. local travellers then.
Yes, they haven’t been more than a few blocks from where they were born. Their other brother and sister have a more worldly life (barely) as they moved from Western Nebraska to somewhere in the next state north, South Dakota.
I can just see them by the roadside with their paws out hitchhiking!
LOL! I needed that image to lighten the day! Thanks!
& with little poles over their shoulders
And a 12 month “stubble” from missing their appointments at the groomers too many times during the year! LOL! At some point, one of them will have to pretend to be a hot female (“female in heat”) and hope that stops the cars. Being black cats can be a hindrance…or suggests they are black magic!
yes,beautiful!
Very stylish!
doodz…hair cutz all wayz feel better in summer time anyway ~~~~ !! 🙂 ♥♥
The kitty boys seem to like the experience, though Andy sometimes goes on strike when he gets bored.
Very sexy – snorts. Seriously Houdini gets the teddy bear cut and he so needs it too right about now. But hey – ya’ll both lovely either way in my piggy book <3 XOXO – Bacon
I agree! If it weren’t more effort for them to maintain, even with my help, I’d definitely prefer them long-haired, though.
the teddy bear cut is pawsome and I bet the boyz will enjoy their new hairstyle in summer ;O)
I will save on air conditioning, too!
