With his brother in the clinic, Dougy’s put heavy demand on me to entertain him. Of course, he has to take out time for other important kitty business… LOL!
With any luck, we will bring Andy home from the veterinarian clinic later today, and he – if he’s in the mood – can help entertain Dougy, too. It’s a big job.
I am just catching up here, Doug. Glad to hear Andy is doing better.
Thanks!
How is Andy?
He’s really doing well now! His blood pressure was 190+ systolic when I took him in last Thursday, and with the new medication, it was down to 120 when I picked him up Monday. He’s a lot perkier and better able to take care of kitty business now.
Good for him! He has a lot of important kat business to tend to!
Catching up after a few =days off the job, he got right on it, too!
Mol! I’ll bet he did! I’m glad he’s getting back to normal!
Me, too!
I’m so relieved he’s back home! 😺💜
Dear Cattitudechronicles – have you given up on blogging? Your blog no longer shows up.
Hey dear furiend! I have renamed my blog – it is now
Twitchytwilightreloaded.wordpress.com
Now, that explains why I haven’t got you in my reader anymore!
Yes – I’m sorry! I miss all my followers – so happy to see you back!
I hope others see your new link and refollow. It’s too bad there can’t be a “Follow this link to the new location…” feature when people click on the old one.
I agree!
I miss all my followers!
I thought about doing something similar to you, and decided against it for the same reason you’re finding out. No matter how you go about letting people know where to find you in the new place, it seems a fair number never refind you.
I know – it’s frustrating! Glad you’re still hanging in there with me! 😺
Literally my pleasure!
Awww thank you!😻
Please follow and spread the word! I miss everyone! 🐟🐟
Done! Thanks for the information
You should have written one last post on your old account, that you would change blog names. I missed you too.
Twitchytwilightreloaded.wordpress.com – this is where she is now.
I am glad she showed up on your blog so I could re-follow her.
Me, too. While there are good reasons to make changes like that, retaining follows makes it a trick.
Me, too. He was really sick.
I’m glad for both you and Dougy that he’s back home where he belongs!😺
Dougy and I missed him terribly, and concur!
I know you did. There’s a huge void when a four legged member of the family is gone – even if it’s temporary!
I see in the comments above that Andy is home- yay!
Yes, and we are happy to have him home again!
We hope Andy is okay and can come home.
Yes, he’s home now, and you can read about his homecoming in tomorrow’s post.
I’m sure he will be home soon!
He came home this afternoon. You can read about it in tomorrow’s post!
I know it’s a big job. Shoko and I play everyday and she is demanding. The only way out is to interest her in a nap. Not easy to do when her mind is made up.

Andy’s home now, so the kitty boys will help keep each other entertained some portion of the time. Whew!
A box is perfect, low-effort entertainment!
And how! Both kitty boys are content to have a box to play in and on.
Oh I bet Dougy will be so happy to have his playmate back at home!
He was! Of course, they spent a lot of time sniffing each other initially.00
I hope Andy is not ill? Hope he will come home soon.
He’s being treated for high blood pressure and urinary tract infection. I hope these are both in control by today.
I just saw all your posts about poor Andy. I didn’t even know animals could get high blood pressure! That made for a difficult holiday, but what a relief that Andy is doing better and coming home. P.S. Of course you made the right choice to take care of yourself first (dialysis). If you don’t you can’t take care of your babies! Hoping all goes well for Andy.
Thanks! Yes, it is difficult to imagine what factors cause high blood pressure in animals, yet they can have it. The potential effects of it are damage to the vascular systems in the kidneys and eyes, causing end term kidney failure and blindness. They can suffer strokes, too. At any rate, it is good there is treatment for the condition, and I am grateful it can be administered in a liquid for flavored with chicken or tuna flavors. Andy will get his in chicken flavor.
Although I hate that Andy has this condition, I am very glad that your vet diagnosed it and is treating it.
He’s home now and tomorrow’s post will show and tell you how he is! (Fine!)
I do hope you can re-unite the boys today. I always use an old T shirt to carry scent, the slightly worn soft fabric holds the scent and they can lay on it. Then you can feel safe to wash your hands. We live and learn.
There’s a terry cloth towel in the carrier I used to take Andy to the clinic. In future, though I hope it isn’t any time soon, I would return the towel home for the home kitty to smell of the sick one. He could lie on it, sleep on it, do whatever he wanted with it. Good suggestion, Angela! Of course, I washed my hands after Dougy got a good sniff of them because I was headed out for a lunch with friends afterwards, and I have to be fussy about personal hygiene because of my health issues and a vulnerability to infections if I am not.
Well most people should wsh their hands more often anyway. Having autoimmune disease has it’s drawbacks but my immune systems is so ramped up germs and viral diseases are usually not a problem.
I apparently do just enough infection control since I rarely have colds, flu, etc.
Do expect some hissing, though – Andy smells very different at first and Dougy will feel insecure about that.
It’s possible, though they haven’t hissed at each other after other separations because of illness. I know there will be a slow reunion till they are sure each kitty is the other, though.
I do hope Andy gets home today. Its been a long time coming.
Yes, and Dougy has been more lost today than ever while looking for his brother. He keeps meowing at me to show him where Andy is, and it tr=ears one’s heart out not knowing how to comfort him and get it across to him that Andy’s ok where he is, that he’s sick and healing first before he comes home again.
Yes, that meowing would be hard when there is nothing you can do about it.
Not to be sad about it, but it’s a preview of what will happen when one dies before the other. That’s one thing about them being best buddies and brothers from birth.
Yes I have seen that with other families where cats and dogs have siblings and great mates living in their family.
Me, too. It is unnerving and sad, no less than when a human family member dies.
More than you can imagine, Doug. I want you all reunited ASAP. Cheers mate.
Much appreciated! Dougy sends his meows of agreement. He claims I am not as much fun as a playmate as is Andy.
He’d really be lost without you though, while Andy is away.
Good idea to take the scent, by the way.
TTFN
The scent thing worked briefly, well, for a few hours, then he wanted to sniff my then washed hands. Oops! Next time I should get the scent on my clothes instead or in addition to my hands. He did spend time sniffing Andy’s favorite spots.
it’s a big job I agree… and we hope you can bring Andy home today…. all apws are crossed
Thanks, Phenny! If Dougy is anxious to see his brother again, I’m sure Andy can’t wait to come home, too. (p.s. I really miss the little guy myself….)
