Post 1812: recon on breakfast…

The best place to do recon on breakfast, that is to keep a sharp eye on the human. Andy likes to do it from the top of the all-in-one machine.  After all, Andy wants to be there first!

Some activity out there! Looking hopeful!

Woo hoo! Andy knows breakfast is about to be served.

It’s hard to get a clear photo of eating kitty boys. They really chow down! Part of it is Dougy trying to finish his kitty food because Andy always finishes his part, then nuzzles into Dougy’s part. (Andy, on right.)

This one is for Marylou of “natuurfreak” to show her what it’s like here in Western Nebraska when the sunflower seeds get enough moisture to cover the Sandhills with sunflowers:

sunflowers in Sandhills (This not my photo and I don’t know who took it. I will give credit if they identify themselves or if I find the photo with credit given…) This scene from the Nebraska Sandhills cheers my heart!

  1. I suspect Nebraska has many lovely secrets like those sunflowers that most people never see. Thankfully the dynamic duo of Andy and Dougy are no secret .

    • Thanks! I didn’t take it, but it was better than anything I had and was in a rural area I particularly enjoy, the Nebraska Sandhills.

  2. Breakfast recon! I know that one well with 9 cats on recon! There is no escape. 🙂

Those sunflowers look so beautiful. Now that’s how I like to think of Nebraska. I’ve only know it from the view of Interstate 80, passing through.

    • It is spectacular since this time of year the background tends to be a dull brown after the rainy season and the grasses and other plants go dormant. (This used to be American bison habitat, with millions of the beasts living quite comfortably on that same dull stuff!)

  3. hahah yes… it is impossible to take a good photo when the food bowl is included … the sunflower photo is wonderful… as if a gazillion of suns are there… even when the sky is gray ;O)

    • Yes, the sunflower blooming time is magical! Earlier in the season, wildflowers of many varieties color the fields and tht is quite nice, too!
