Post 2285: “Elementary, my dear Watson!”

Andy posed nicely for yesterday’s blog post, then I ran into downloading problems. “Stupid smart phone! Why is it queuing my downloads instead of stuffing them into my e-mail account on the laptop? Again and just when I need that photo for my next blog post!?”

Andy thought and thought and thought because I upset him saying “those words” I save for technologically challenging moments. Dang, it’s a burden being a Boomer’s cat! Stupid smart phone…!

“Have you tried this-and-that?” Such a wise kitty. Of course! Randomly trying this-and-that always works. And it did again this time! You know, the infinite monkey theorem* approach to technology is a winner!

*“The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. In fact, the monkey would almost surely type every possible finite text an infinite number of times.”

  1. Mom also experiences technical difficulties a lot when she tries to download my pics to the computer. Sometime the computer doesn’t want to accept them. Bad computers anyway. They certainly weren’t designed by pussycats! Tee hee hee.

    • Yes, it is a mystery how something so befraught with nasty glitches became such an indispensable tool. They should come with a warning that they will suck out your soul and spit it in the toilet, where it drowns then is flushed to oblivion….

  2. I’ve always believed the infinite monkey to be gospel, as my teachers sure seemed to think it was possible, in infinity.
Your little guys are so cute. I love my 2 cats, and think they are beautiful, but I admit I get a little jealous when I see yours. Sooo cute! 🙂

    • No need to think ours aren’t just as cute! I see all sorts of kitties on Facebook (for example) that are as cute as or cuter than my kitties, but all are sweetie pies! Maybe if you know they hork on the carpet from time to time it would help…! LOL!

  3. I am glad you and Andy figured out the problem together, Doug! Cats always make problem solving go faster, especially when one is trying to fix something and they want to sit in the middle of it. 🙂

    • How true. Just today Dougy located a leak in the cold water input hose to my north toilet. He kept coming to visit me with a wet chest and a soaked rump. I’m used to the kitties getting their faces and chest west from drinking at the kitty fountain, but I couldn’t determine how he’d get his rump wet, too. He sometimes hides behind the toilet – best reason to keep that area spotless! Anyway, that’s where I discovered what he was trying to tell me. In the meantime, I put a bucket under it till I can get it fixed. Thanks, Dougy! (Persian kitty hair is like a sponge.)

    • Andy has lots of people say that. He’;s such a serious little guy, though, that I think he’d be upset if he understood that people think he is cute. LOL!

    • Yes, auto correct is a monster in the room! How many happy couples have broken up because of an inappropriate “guess”? How many mother’s hearts have been broken? How many countries have lost their freedoms? Auto correct is a Russian conspiracy, surely…or devised by the CIA!! LOL!
