I think they are doing whats natural as I’ve seen the same behaviour with other cats.

Size helps, for sure! I hate to think what a Maine Coon kitty could do around the house….!
I’ve never seen them myself but hear they are a very large domesticated cat. Some people actual have Cougars and Tigers as pets! Now thats a recipe for trouble!

They are polite, of course, but Dougy takes on the appearance of a reptile with its spiky hairs.
